Day 4 of shutdown: Vets are going to need wire cutters to visit WWII memorial.
The fences/barricades were not wired shut when I was here on Tuesday.
I am tempted, SOOOOOOOOOOOOO TEMPTED, to get into my car and drive there now. I could be there this evening, rent a room overnight, and visit the WWII memorial tomorrow.

This is the stuff we have to spread all over the blogs and social networks,,it does resonate! We have enough ammo,,and the polls are looking like more and more of the public are starting to blame the Democrats...we have to keep it up!
This is the level our government and leadership have dipped too. We are a sorry lot when the citizens of this Republic, THE EMPLOYERS OF THESE PEOPLE; WE ARE THEIR EMPLOYERS, THUS THEIR BOSSES, yet we are bossed around by our employees and treated with contempt by our employees and shouted down at, cursed, etc., by our employees.
The United States of America has become a laughing stock. America is no longer the leader of the free world. We have become the leader in oppression of the individual, individual rights, etc. No, America has dropped to to this level and we, the citizens of this nation have allowed it.
American citizens have allowed our nation to become, not the melting pot of nations, coming here for freedom, seeking a better way of life, seeking betterment of their families. No, we have become a nation of come and get it, we will give it to you free, you don't have to do anything but sit on your ragged butts and vote for us to keep us in office.
No, America has dipped to a 3d world status in my humble opinion. We have become not a melting pot, but a cess pool of garbage.
Wow, what an epitaph for history.
So, the fountain at the WWII Memorial will now silently reflect their faces.
Run silent. Run deep.
There are, after all, a number of young men and women sitting at the bottom of the oceans.
Let us remember them, too.

This is an important moment in our history will citizens roll over and accept a dictator or fight for their freedoms. This small piece of wire is an act of war. Who does this country belong to? Closing this memorial is more than a fight over a budget stalemate. It is a direct statement against the freedom that these vets fought for. The state is your master and we have taken your freedoms is the message here. Will their sacrifice be for nothing? Is this really what America wants for itself?

A few years back I was watching a documentary about the holocaust. One of the who first Jews ordered to board the trains to Auswitch was being interviewed.
When asked “why did you get on the train (rather than resist)?” He hung his head down, tears fell, he looked up and said “it was just ONE MORE THING..”
They complied themselves all the way to the camp.

You need a prosecutor to file a charge. Jurisdictions here would be DC local, or Federal. And I’m guessing Eric Holder can’t be counted on to do the right thing here.
I think 81 mm mortors would be enough.
My point is that they might be setting up citizens in a ‘trap’. Cut the wires - off to jail.
There is nothing more PO’d than a veteran who can’t get to their memorial due to government closing. Give those old guys help and it’ll be all over the news.
During a government shutdown, our spoiled brat President had to have his people go and RENT barricades to keep the WWII Veterans from going to their own memorial. These weren’t just barricades sitting around, they had to ACTIVELY find them, negotiate for them and coordinate them. Obama had to work hard to get those barricades! And by the way, it’s our tax money these jackass Democrats are using to keep 80 year old Veterans from their own memorial.
I wonder if the vets would be willing to take a hot air balloon ride over those gates. Think any patriotic owners of a hot air balloon would step up to the plate?
That’s what wire cutters are for.

That is from a song a father wrote about his son, who perished in WWII. Eerie melody. I haven’t heard it in decades, but I still remember the hush that would fall over crowds, especially when performed by a male chorus—of young men.
