President Obama faces a dual challenge in the months ahead: Convince uninsured Americans to sign up for Obamacare and keep worried Democrats on board as the administration enacts his health care overhaul.
The rollout of the Obamacare health exchanges Oct. 1 touched off a high-stakes messaging battle over the president's signature legislative achievement, a clash with enormous repercussions for the 2014 midterm elections.
Playing an expectations game, Obamas surrogates have openly argued that it could take months, if not years, for Americans to fully appreciate the impact of a law that polls show has been greeted with confusion and skepticism.
Obamas political allies dont have time to spare, however.
To a certain extent, we sink or swim on how the public views the law, conceded a top Senate aide to a centrist Democrat up for re-election in 2014. Theres a lot of work left to do. The White House isnt the only one with skin in the game.

The uninsured don’t want to pay for it and they certainly don’t want to be forced to pay for it!
America isn’t going to realize what a turd sandwich they are being served until well into next year. People are balking at the premiums, but I don’t think they realized what they are about to purchase. As far as I can tell the bronze and silver plans look like catastrophic coverage with no pre-conditions and maternity coverage. No sick visits or trips to the emergency room get covered until you meet an amazingly high deductible. Some people might be thinking they are getting a good deal with a huge premium subsidy from the government, but they are in for a rude awakening the first time they go to the doctor, and the second time, and the third time, etc. their insurance won’t kick in until they’ve forked out a lot of money.
“........................One brave soul with a pre-existing condition managed to make it through the craptastic billion-dollar ObamaCare system and discovered $597 monthly premiums with a fourteen thousand dollar yearly deductible. The fine for non-compliance with King Obamas generous offer turned out to be $4000 per year. Hesitate to give the King his tithe, and youre going to lose your drivers license, and maybe get a nice tax lien on your house. But his loyal army of bureaucratic servants will be happy to vacuum your tax no, wait its a penalty, only Tea Party extremists would call it a tax no, wait its a tax, Mister Chief Justice, we swear on a stack of sacred paperwork! right out of your bank account. Wait until the first tax/penalty bites cost some poor soul a few thousand bucks in bounced check charges all so he can afford the privilege of pretending hes as free as a pre-Obama American.
Its a horror show, sure but the computer kinks will eventually be worked out (and if you refuse to pay higher taxes to make that happen, youre a teabagging anarchist!) and there will be some people who decide they like their benefits, especially if they come from a blue state where Democrats have already comprehensively destroyed the health insurance market. Their happiness will be cultivated; complaints will be ignored; jaw-dropping failure will become an irresistible demand for more spending to fix everything. The resulting system will provide leverage to ensure public submission on any number of other issues. Today, the price of defying despotism is a line of barricades across public memorials. Tomorrow, it will be the credits and subsidies that keep our centrally controlled health insurance system groaning along. The day after that, it will be access to your doctor under single-payer socialized medicine.
If you value your freedom and dignity, this is the right time to fight ObamaCare to the end.”

“.............Accountable care organizations (ACOs) are established in the Affordable Care Act under a Medicare Shared Savings Program (Sec 3022). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) defines ACOs as “groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, who come together voluntarily to give coordinated high quality care to their Medicare patients.” It further states that “[w]hen an ACO succeeds in both delivering high-quality care and spending health care dollars more wisely, it will share in the savings it achieves for the Medicare program.” Translated into practical, real-world terms: when an ACO delivers care to predetermined standards and spends less health care dollars to do so, it can see a bonus. The concerning features now become who sets the standards of care and how it is possible to spend less money and provide high-quality care.
The first question is relatively easy to answer, because there is a set list of things that need to be reported in order for an ACO to be considered legitimate. There are a total of 33 items on this list, known as quality performance standards, that will be evaluated for each ACO. These standards are made up of both subjective and objective measures of performance. The law is vague as to whether these standards will be compared to other ACOs or to some national average for interpretation, and, according to the affordable care act, the standards are subject to change: “The Secretary shall seek to improve the quality of care furnished by ACOs over time by specifying higher standards, new measures, or both for purposes of assessing such quality of care..............”

Well.... with Rs and us conservatives FINALLY feeling our oats maybe midterms will destroy dems in both chambers. I can even dream of veto proof numbers. Wouldn't that be a hoot... shoving a repeal bill up 0dumbo's throat with a veto override LOFL
Emergency rooms will still be the health care provider of choice for low income Americans and illegal immigrants.
Careful what you wish for. The reason Obama doesn’t want to put Obamacare off for one year is right now people are pissed about the roll out. They see how much it will cost and are not happy. By the this time next year you can be darn sure over 50% of the population will have free health care. After the election they will start cutting the subsidies and lowering the limit to free Obamacare. By then it will be too late.
Time to stock up on popcorn.
10-4 and precious metals.
No not gold, silver & platinum.
Lead, copper & brass. .. .
According to a Gallup poll released earlier this week, 69% of young adults don’t even KNOW they are required to purchase health insurance or pay a penalty.
They are just starting to find this out and they are ticked.
Guess they’ll have to beg Pop to take them back on his plan as long as they’re 26 or younger.
Exactly. I think there is going to be a lot of screaming when people figure out that Obamacare isn’t what they thought it was.
