Next time you pick up a vanilla candy, think twice. A chemical compound used in vanilla flavored foods and scents comes from the butt of a beaver.
Castoreum comes from a beaver's castor sacs, located between the pelvis and base of the tail. Due to its proximity to the anal glands, the slimy brown substance is often mixed with gland secretions and urine.
"I lift up the animal's tail," Joanne Crawford, a wildlife ecologist at Southern Illinois University told National Geographic. "Im like, 'Get down there, and stick your nose near its bum.'"
"People think I'm nuts," she added. "I tell them, 'Oh, but it's beavers; it smells really good.'"

Trying to figure out how harvesting Beaver Butt is easier than just using vanilla beans.

I’m not sure I want to know.
But just guessing: since they mark their territory with it, the whole area must smell like a candy factory. Or something.
Real vanilla comes from a plant, often called “vanilla orchid”, but the actual “vanilla bean” fruit is not a true orchid at all. A little confusing:

Obama must have a Beaver butt he has so many Democrats sniffing his azz. I suppose they all think it smells good.
Especially Pelosi, Reid and Hoyer. They spend most of their time sniffing around down there.

I now make my own Chocolates and deserts, and I buy the Real Vanilla extract.
Read the labels of what they call food these days.

Most vanillin and castoreum used in the manufacture of foods is synthesized, not harvested. I doubt very much that there are enough beavers available to get all the castoreum needed in the modern world.

No wonder he has to put his stinking muzzie feet up on the Oval Office furniture; he has so many lib-dem lips attached to his ass, he has to balance the load. POS.

Ah, remember this?
Wheee!! Did a little research and found that Fletcher's did not use beaver butts to make this stuff.
"...Castoreum comes from a beaver's castor sacs..."
Gave me shivers!

Yes, LOL; I was ‘threatened’ a few times, but never got dosed. Even as a kid in the 50s, I remember TV shows about Castor Oil, and I learned quickly NOT to do something twice which would earn me a dose.
