NC church bus involved in crash in Tenn., 6 fatalities reported

A wreck on Wednesday involving a tractor-trailer, a church bus from Statesville and a passenger vehicle resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed.

The church bus, which was traveling east on I-40, crossed the median and struck the westbound tractor-trailer. From listening to local reports, there may well be more fatalities. Very sad.

Looks from the pic they had the center cable barrier but the bus got over it partially.

It sound like a front tire blew on the bus sending it off the road. The wreck is just west of the I-40/81 split.

Eight people dead. One from the SUV from what I have read. A group of 55 and older on the way home from Gatlinburg. So very sad. Praying for the families and church members.
