Harry Reid’s Office Leaks Boehner Office Emails—And It Could Ruin Any Faith You Have in Washington

A series of leaked emails from House Speaker John Boehner’s chief of staff, Mike Sommers, show that the Speaker may have coordinated with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) to exempt Congress from Obamacare.

The emails were leaked Tuesday by David Krone, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s chief of staff, who actually has a history of this sort of thing.

The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington, show Rep. Boehner (R-Ohio) worked behind the scenes earlier this year to address confusion over a provision in the Affordable Care Act that would force members of Congress and their aides into the exchanges. In fact, if one were to go by the leaks, which were first given to Politico, it appears that the offices of Boehner and Reid regularly coordinated to exempt Congress from the health care law.

But given that the Speaker is now apparently against congressional Obamacare exemptions, the emails make him look inconsistent and hypocritical – which may have been the point of their leaking.

I agree with you. There are lessons to be learned in this that the Republicans in Congress should have learned long, long ago.

Lesson 1: Communists NEVER negotiate in good faith. They NEVER give up or compromise anything, they always expect to march on. They concede NOTHING.

Lesson 2: The democrats, the good communists that they are, are waging a war of extermination against the GOP. “Fundamentally transforming America” means turning America into a perpetual one-party state under the model of Soviet communism. The GOP thinks they are playing the “good ole’ boys” backroom club like it used to be. It’s not. The democrats want the Republicans GONE. All of them.

Wake up, guys. Smell the writing on the wall. Or coffee. Or something.

“We can’t let it get out there that this is for [Boehner] and [Reid] to ask the President to carve us out of the requirement of Obamacare,” Boehner chief of staff Mike Sommers wrote on July 17.

Pretty much says it all.

I can blame any elected representative that would try to exempt themselves and their families and employees from a law that effects everyone except those that are a part of the body that voted those laws into place... whether they voted for it or not.

“GOP and rank and file voters always knew bohner was a back stabber who played kabuki”

But now Boehner has had his cover story destroyed. He has lost the ability to pretend he is working for us.

Going after Boehner for this is something for a later date. This is supposed to be a distraction, and the bigger story right now is Reid deciding to go scorched earth.

How is GOP duplicity, corruption and back-stabbing supposed to surprise or shock ANYONE, at this point?

I mean ...really?!

I’m no fan of Boehner, but this isn’t inconsistent.

He’s (at least outwardly) trying to get the same exemption for all Americans as he and Reid got for Congress.

It’s Reid who is the hypocrite - wants exemption for his buddies and staff but insists the rest of us live under “the law” that’s apparently written in stone as far as Republicans are concerned, but a living document for Democrats to mold as they will.

True. Reid has utterly destroyed HIS ability to ever do back room deals with repubs. Smooth move, because he does a ton of them.

Well First Off, I will examine any email content and determine for myself what it means and not have the “meaning” fed to me.

Secondly...is that what we are here for? I mean, we like to think that sometimes we make enough noise and maybe once in awhile we get through and are heard. Not sure it’s true but Boehner can always claim he didn’t think it was a big deal until he heard the people get so vocal about it.....

Don’t do the kneejerk reaction here. Take a breath and sort it out.

Also, to me,,this shows how desperate the Dem communists are. They know they have lost the momentum...and now no behavior will be low enough for them to exhibit.

They did. When the 2014 election rolls around, look for all kinds of derogatory information on Conservative Republican candidates to be made public. All the while portraying the Democrat candidates as saints. They will make the smear job they did on Sarah Palin seem like an endorsement for her.

We need to stop the knee jerk crap. I am no Boehner fan, but he never voted for Obamacare in the 1st place. Yes, this stinks but at least Boehner is willing to give it up.

Now to Hairy Reid. He voted to force Obamacare on the people telling us how great it was. He is a liar because he also knew it sucked and is a huge hypocrite because he won’t live with what he imposed on others. His staffer who leaked this is pure scum as is his criminal boss.

“to ask the “Fuhrer” to carve us out of the requirement of Obamacare,” Sommers wrote on July 17.”

I think another Boehner boner and time to change jackasses moment has occurred.

Bonehead should retaliate and announce that immigration reform is DOA (he favors it of course), he should say “will not be brought up for a vote”
