Immigration overhaul legislation has been dormant in the House for months, but a few Republicans are working behind the scenes to advance it at a time the Capitol is immersed in a partisan brawl over government spending and President Barack Obama's health care law.

It does not need an "overhaul."
It needs enforcement.
.
They’ll figure out some way to lose the majority
All this work. Ugh! And the pressure. Whoah!
Shocks the hell out of me. /s
Any form of Illegal Alien Amnesty passed by the House will mean Senate bill becomes law.
While the GOP claims to not support ObamaCare...they have no problem extending it to Illegal Aliens
Between the treachery of Northeast rinos and Amnesty kiss-ups, the Republican party can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every time.
You’re posting a lot of threads this afternoon.
About obvious things.
Perhaps you should go and make a sandwich or something.
Okay, we can walk and chew gum at the same time.
No amnesty.
traitors
Let them try. Nothing will demolish the GOP faster that passing immigration ‘reform.’ If they are too stupid to see it, then they deserve what will happen to the Party.

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
If the scume of the country club is going to work with the Dem’s to get amnety across then we should work with the Dem’s to raise the taxes of the afore mentioned scum of the country club. Treachery and duplicity should be reprised.
The idiots really think replacing working class citizens about to retire will grow this nation. Complete fools. They used up the baby boomers, made it impossible for any of them to have large families, expanded Medicare/Medicaid for decades now this is our fault. Good luck with the muchachos being your worker bees. Not gonna happen! This nation is being set up for death!
Exactly. Why do we need more laws? We don’t enforce the ones we have.
It better not go to conference, or its all over.
RIP Republican party.
A lot of that is because their definition of defeat is different for yours and mine.
YES!!
A GOP cave on Obamacare followed by a cave on immigration means the end of the GOP. Its also the end of America as a republic, so the end of the GOP is small potatoes by comparison.
