If there is a govt shutdown; who will spy on me, waste my money, and have contempt for me?
I for one have my risk mitigation plan in place in the event the government shuts down.
I still remember all the wailing, gnashing of teeth, the rhetorical rending of garments and wearing sackcloth and ashes, that came with sequestration. Remember that?
The trouble is that the government is so morbidly obese, bloated with so much blubber, that it can barely move. All sequestration did was gently shave off a tiny bit, like 2 seconds of liposuction.
And there was Obama, doing his level best to target *tiny* cuts to make them as painful as possible to as many people as possible. But it wasn’t easy. Because with that much bloat, by the time you get to the surface, there are almost no nerve endings left.
But oh, did Obama moan and carry on about it. And the bottom line was he and his toadies were the only ones who really noticed.
So ask yourself, since sequestration is *still happening*, have you even noticed?
Now ask yourself, if the whole freaking government, or at least the “discretionary spending” (Hah! As if they had any discretion at all!), WILL YOU EVEN NOTICE?
Importantly, discretionary spending is only 17% of the budget. And with deficit spending, maybe only 5% of what is spent.
So here is the great lesson. WILL YOU EVEN NOTICE if 5% of the US government is shut down?
We the people are the host. The govt. is the parasite.
Guess which one can rub along without the other?
Big deal! Shut it down. There will still be fifty state governments running.
Our glorious constitution gave us three, EQUAL branches of government... Executive, Legislative, and Judicial.
In the Legislature, the ALL IMPORTANT “power of the purse” was expressly given to the HOUSE. NOTHING gets paid for, that the HOUSE doesn’t approve.
When the House and the President disagree??? The fight goes to: THE PEOPLE
In this case...I believe, THE PEOPLE agree with Republicans.
Let’s go see...
If a system is broken, then common sense says SHUT IT DOWN, and then fix it. DUH!
YET.....While the presidential Fraud is out there trying to sell his Snake Oil...call him on his lies...i.e., pick up your phone and call Dem. Hq in your town/city; fax your elected and demand they stand up and tell the truth...think of something that exposes this man for what he is...an imposter - who else would so belittle his citizens, make snide remarks, spin facts as if they were so much confetti...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH of this un-statesman like man who tarnishes America.
We don’t need a bunch of lawyers making themselves rich while telling us what light bulbs to buy, how much water we can flush, and what healthcare we are allowed to buy. Shut it down and keep it down. Take away Obama’s blank checkbook and let him whine.

Every new law, rule, and regulation serve well the lawyers who pad their pockets with our money. Queers getting married is just one more of their low life ploys to make money.
