Skip to comments.LIVE Thread: Senate cloture vote. Guess the number of RINOs that vote to support "Dingy" Harry
Posted on 09/27/2013 6:59:01 AM PDT by ken5050
Senate just came into session. Happily, Dingy Harry is sparing us any commentary early on this morning, as is McConnell. Debate goes until 12:10, at which time there is 30 minutes reserved for majority and minority leaders , then the vote. Will there be any more GOP intramural fireworks on the senate floor?
1. There is a good chance that a majority of the GOP caucus will vote to support Ted Cruz. This means that the GOP senate leadership, McConnell and Cornyn, are out of step with the caucus. If McConnell wins his election, I fully expect he will be challenged for majority leader. If he loses, there is NO way that Cornyn has a chance in hell of winning the spot.
2. Will Joe Manchin vote against Reid. He said yesterday that he would absolutely vote for a bill to delay Obamacare. If he votes against Reid, then he might well have on foot across the aisle already. Remember, he gets the most leverage, can demand the most (seniority, committee assignments, if he changes now)
3. If you didn't see Special Report last night, go here , at the 1:00 minute mark, to hear what Judge Napolitano says about Boehner's chances of remaining Speaker if he screw it up.
MAKE DC LISTEN: TELL YOUR SENATORS TO OPPOSE CLOTURE ON H.J. RES 59
We must oppose cloture on H. J. Res. 59, so that Harry Reid and Senate Democrats cannot sneak in funding for Obamacare. We need you to call your Senators right now: tell them to oppose cloture on H.J. Res 59 and remind them that a vote for cloture IS a for funding Obamacare.

Here ya go, my friend...BTW..on this thread..post a link to your thread about what to ask Lamar Alexander tomorrow. I’m sure you’ll get lots of good ideas.
Good morning..thanks for keeping the phone numbers in front of everyone...
Live video of Senate session
That thread is about Lamar!’s opponent - Joe Carr. Will post a link.
How can a potus unilaterally change “the law of the land” before it is even enacted and unliterally exempt the entire US congress, their staffs, and entire special interest groups from complying with it?
Cornyn now babbling but will vote for cloture. Worthless lying, scheming, undermining minority whip!
Just watched Ayotte on fox...she will vote for cloture. She did look a bit unnerved however...she should be.
Cruz et all has shone a light on where our senators stand, there is nowhere for them to hide.
Thank you for the live thread
....more may come to mind.
The turncoat Cornyn is speaking.
What an absolute disappointment he has been. Once he got to Washington he became one of the inner beltway thugs.
Just called senator Roberts and Moran and I know for sure that sen Roberts is voting with us I think moran is too
Wonder what it would take to persuade Manchin to come ever to the GOP?
He’s clearly not comfortable in his Democrat skin.
# of Rinos on Vote: 12
Lunatic Bernie Sanders babbling about robbing Peter to pay Paul.
My pleasure...misery sure do love company..
I’m here and watching.
I heard that Roberts is gonna get primaried. Do you know who?
Thune as well.... very disappointed in my senator.
I let him know that if he votes yes on cloture, I will support a primary candidate next time he is up for re-election...
pj’s , coffee , and common sense ...seated
I’m very surprised at that..he’s what #3 is the GOP senate leadership? Talk about being out of step with the troops..
How’s the grandson?
“pjs , coffee , and common sense ...seated”
I have on regular clothes as had to take Yorkie to groomer. I am drinking coffee.
Can you pleas put this in Breaking News sidebar? I forgot. Many thanks..
Did Sanders just call anti-Obamacare people supremacists or something? What did he say, anybody know?
You mean you don’t FReep “au naturelle?” Not even a quickie change into PJs
outstandin.....nice cool Phoenix Morn, it’s Friday, all good !
The Supreme Court got it wrong as they have in the past. The redress is through correcting legislation
I heard that there is some language in the law that allows the HSS to make regulatory clarifications as necessary to implement the law. That is where the additional twenty thousand pages of administrative regulations came from.
Grassley just Tweeted that he OPPOSES cloture
Two thumbs up!!!
He’s off his meds again...
Love to hear a socialist like Bernie Sanders babble about what is democracy and the rule of law.
Worries about the GOP and its voting embarrassing the US in front of the world. This from a guy that has embarrassed the United States for like 30 years.
Screaming about the minimum wage now.
My guess is the GOPe is right now behind closed doors figuring our which safe Republicans can vote yes on cloture without being vulnerable in the next election. Then the safest 10-15 will vote yes and the others will be allowed to vote no. In my opinion, the GOPe is very happy with 47-49 Senate seats. That is enough to “be relevant” but not enough to be responsible for anything.
He looks like a mad scientist with his hair like that. :p
The Supreme Court passed Obamacare as a TAX.
Then how are there waivers and whole groups, like Muslims and Congress, exempted, when the Constitution clearly states all taxes must be applied equally?
And it was passed with NO Republican votes in both houses.
Yeah, that was real representative democracy.
“regulatory clarifications” is not exempting entire potus selected classes (but not others) from compliance with the “law of the land”
Jeff Sessions of Alabama up now.
This will be very good. He is a good man.
Ironic, isn't it, Bernie being the only avowed socialist in Congress?
His voice is absolutely annoying; even his hair looks crazy.
He rambled quite a bit, didn't he?!
I like Sessions, a sensible man.
I thought Bernie only represented “Paul”, who is OK with robbing Peter
3. If you didn’t see Special Report last night, go here , at the 1:00 minute mark, to hear what Judge Napolitano says about Boehner’s chances of remaining Speaker if he screw it up.

10 senators. That puts the Republicans at 35. Add the 4 rat senators who are in danger and tha makes 39. Not enough for to stop cloture.
So my prediction is 39 against, 61 for. Bill goes back to House.
