I, too, love theology and always loved Sunday School. One dream was to go to Westminster Theological Seminary, but went off the straight and narrow for many years. When things get tough for me it is the passage from Habakkuk that is with all my bookmarkers (pics and memorabilia) in my Bible:
“Though the fig tree should not blossom,
And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail,
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold,
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the LORD,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.”
Hab 3:17 & 18
One of my favorite Scriptures, too...thanks for the reminder.
One I read this morning that encouraged:
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.
Psalm 68:19-20
Actually, the entirety of Psalm 68 is great: God pulverizes His enemies while His people rejoice in His Kingdom and Presence.
