Skip to comments.Obama: GOP Scared Because They Know People Will Love Obamacare
Posted on 09/26/2013 10:34:59 AM PDT by bestintxas
President Obama: "And part of what I think the resistance that we've seen ramp up particularly over the last couple of months is all about is the opponents of health care reform know they're going to sign up. In fact, one of the major opponents, when asked, well, why is it that you'd potentially shut down the government at this point just to block Obamacare, he basically fessed up. He said, well, once consumers get hooked on having health insurance and subsidies, then they won't want to give it up. (Laughter.) I mean, that's you can look at the transcript. This is one of the major opponents of health care reform. It is an odd logic. Essentially they're saying people will like this thing too much and then it will be really hard to roll back."

MAKE DC LISTEN: TELL YOUR SENATORS TO OPPOSE CLOTURE ON H.J. RES 59
We must oppose cloture on H. J. Res. 59, so that Harry Reid and Senate Democrats cannot sneak in funding for Obamacare. We need you to call your Senators right now: tell them to oppose cloture on H.J. Res 59 and remind them that a vote for cloture IS a for funding Obamacare.

Now that we have your attention, you sorry US Senators, keep in mind that we will replace you with those who will gladly correct your errors - - - .
So, scrub and clean by 2014 !
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick

Rand Paul had been on this list, but it looks like he has backed off. CALL HIS OFFICE!
They must not have the votes for cloture.
Never worry; there are plenty of GOPe ‘Rat RINOs aching to cross the aisle.
When I lose my policy, I will not sign up for the exchanges. When they send the fine, I will not pay it. Eventually, they MUST issue a warrant to arrest me for not paying the fines and when they do, I will ignore its command. Eventually, they will have to act to enforce that warrant and then they will knock on my door, when they do I will not answer it. Eventually, they will be forced to kick the door in and when they do they will be met with resistance and they will pay a price.
Of course, I know that I will pay the ultimate price, but they must be willing to shoot me dead in order to mandate their health insurance utopia.
It is that way with every one of their desires, but this one is my bright line.
oh for C’s sakes!
what idiots write his teleprompter scripts? For obvious reasons, they hide their true identities even more assiduously as does Obama himself
Talk about delusional!
If he really said that then he’s deranged.
If the Republicans really believed that, then what reason would they possibly have for wanting it blocked??
Now THAT’S funny!
People will love it?
yeah...yeah...and Benghazi happened all because of a video.
What is the “transcript” he is talking about, and who supposedly made the comment?
once consumers get ***hooked*** on having health insurance and subsidies, then they won’t want to give it up.
He’s betting it will work like welfare but he’s never been right yet.
Up in smoke
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Delusional ...
They won’t love paying for it and what it does to our economy. Obama sounds like a used car salesman trying to peddle his crap to the public.
He ‘s almost in the billionaire’s club and way out if touch with reality. This plan was put in place to gut the Constitution and invade our privacy on a level never seen before with us paying for it!
Surely this is from the Onion or MAD magazine!
Or maybe Obama has his own sitcom now.
The Commander In Choom speaks gobbledegook yet again.
Why do conservatives still watch Fox?
Where does this moron plan on hiding out for the next three years?
I believe that Rand has gone over to the Dark Side. He's now the heir apparent to the old guard establishment bulls.
If people are going to love it, why are you, Congress and your favored cronies exempting yourselves from it?
My sentiments exactly.
Many young, healthy people don't carry insurance. But now they will be forced to carry insurance and at what cost?
Also, also where is the money to for subsidies coming from? There might not be enough from the IRS penalty to make up the difference.
Does it come out of the general fund? Not good if it does because the subsidies could be huge and are not currently accounted for in the budget. New tax coming? Maybe they'll start taxing company provided benefits.
That is the most ridiculous thing he’s said on the subject yet. If the GOP thought people are going to “love it,” they’d be getting the heck out of the way.
My loathing of the illegitimate, bisexual, Marxist Kenyan Muslim Usurper requires medication.
How Obama. Look at all of the welfare and SNAP addicts. Case friggin closed.
Rand has veered to the left to try and stake an early claim for the middle of the road moderate vote.
Being an Always surrender before a fight Surrender Republican Federal Politician does have its disadvantages:
1.) You will never get elected to be POTUS;
2.) If you sit on the fence, the political splinters will get you;
3.) If you stay in the middle of the road, you will get run over.
What Rand is doing leads me to believe that Rand still believes in Big Tents, Old-Style Republican Cave-Ins, and making gut-wrenching concession speeches late on Election Night.
Reality: Dole (strike one), McCain (Strike two), Romney (STRIKE THREE!!!!!!!!!!).
West, Lee, Cruz, and maybe Palin are the POTUS contenders, the rest are pretenders.
Batter UP !
Hate, despise, loathe, abhor...
I'm out of words to describe my feelings towards this p-o-s in the White House. How he even got 10% of the vote much less elected and re-elected says something very frightening about voters.
I wish someone would come forward and question why Obamacare needs funding anyway. We were told from the beginning that Obamacare would actually save money instead of cost money. So based upon what we were told, a continuing resolution without funding Obamacare would cost more than one that funded it. Yet we now know that not to be the case.
You have to wonder if this fool is really that stupid.
Has the president or any Congressman ever answered the question that if Obamacare is so, so good, why are they getting waivers for it???
People def: Those who are already on the dole, the low information voters.
The American people will love ObamaCare about as much as our congresscritters and their staffers love ObamaCare.
Not forced. The penalty for not having insurance is just a pittance the first several years -- IIRC $250 in 2014, and increasing quite slowing for several years. At some point the penalty is slated to increase dramatically, but we'll be into single-payer by then.
They will. Just give crack to a control group for 2 weeks and they will love it and just try to take it away from them. They will love it even knowing that it is really bad for them. People did not want social security when FDR forced it on us. You don’t have to take it away to hear the squeals, just try to cut it 1%. If people get hooked on Obamacare care, it will be here to stay, even if it is the worst possible healthcare system for the US.
Yeah, they'll love it when the IRS and SWAT team breaks down their door enforcing it. Sure they will!
