COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., September 25, 2013 — While Republicans and Democrats alike excoriate Texas Senator Ted Cruz for his filibuster, everyone, including establishment media, miss the truth. It is neither Cruz nor House Republicans who are threatening to shut down the government over funding for Obamacare.
It is Democrats, led by the president and the majority leader of the Senate.
Under the United States Constitution, that much-maligned but still valid document, spending bills must originate in the House of Representatives. The Framers did this because the House was directly elected by the people and therefore most closely represents the will of the people. The Obamacare law is unconstitutional because it originated in the Senate. The House bill had failed. When the House finally passed a bill it was different than the already-passed Senate bill and a parliamentary trick was used to “reconcile” the two.
Democrats knew that a second vote in the Senate would fail.
The bill was never challenged on these grounds. It was challenged on the individual mandate. It is unlikely that the Supreme Court would rule on Congressional procedure anyway.
So how can you get rid of a bureaucracy? Don’t fund it. That’s exactly what House Republicans did. It is not as good as repealing the law but it is a stopgap measure. The American people have never wanted Obamacare or any other form of national socialized medicine.
After the bill was rammed into law, the people elected a Republican House in 2010 and again in 2012.
Again, the Republican House, with much prodding from the people, finally passed a bill that did fund the federal government but not Obamacare. The key point to remember is that they did fund the entire federal government, less Obamacare.

I keep wondering why all the Republicans keep attacking Cruz instead of pointing this out over and over and over. Drill it in.
I think many Republicans must want Obamacare.

Perhaps you can explain something to me, as many of us our confused.
Debate will start on the House bill to defund Obamacare. Then the cloture vote comes. After that the senate votes on the bill. But what bill. Can Harry Reid change the bill after the cloture vote, or do any amendment need to added before the cloture vote.
In other words, what leverage do the 46 republicans have by stopping the cloture vote? What guarantee do they have that Reid will not strip out the defund Obamacare portion.
If Reid can change the bill after cloture, for a 51 vote majority HOW CAN anyone stop him?
The second question...clearly there are republicans who vow to vote for cloture because they don’t want the govt to shut down because republicans will get blamed. HOW DO THEY KNOW THIS? Seems like the blame will go Obama and democrats just as much as to our side. Explain this to me.

This Bill needs to be challenged on the Equal Protection Clause, just like Bush v. Gore. It is against the Constitution to have a bill that treats different classes of Americans diferently and the left screwed up as soon as they started issuing waivers.
As written, Obamacare did not raise taxes. The rats were so petrified of the word, they called them fines and penalties.
Well, Scotus changed that. With the stroke of a pen, our black-robes revised the law, as if they were alchemists, and transmuted fines/penalties into taxes.
From the column, The Obamacare law is unconstitutional because it originated in the Senate. Since Obamacare began in the Senate, and Scotus determined the law initiated new taxes . . .
Obamacare is just the latest reminder why reform of our corrupted system will never emerge from Wash DC.
