^5!
Listening to Cspan right now and even the Republicans speaking are repeating the lie of the military not getting paid during a shutdown. That’s a total lie. The congress will pass emergency bills funding the absolutely essential services and the president will sign them. They wouldn’t dare not to.
They’re all repeating these lies in an attempt to frighten the people and each other. This is no way for adults to govern a free nation.
Where are the statesmen?
“adults” are not governing this nation
He’s just worried because he won’t be able to golf or go on vacation since there won’t be any money for him. ;-)
It’s about time folks started making this point. I’ve been saying this since the first moment this year libs started accusing the GOP of “wanting to shut down the government.”
I’m starting to see some media traction on this point as well. FINALLY!
Obamacare cannot be funded without a House vote. That’s all that needs to be known.
I am spreading this around the blogs EVERY day,,,went over to HuffPo earlier,,kinda fun. Yahoo, POLITICO, Daily Beast, everywhere!!!! all the alpha networks,,we have to keep beating this drum!
I wouldn’t trust Boehner and McConnell — they’ll instantly blame Ted Cruz and announce that they stand with Obama.
If only all the capitalists gave their money to Obama, maybe the fierce leader then would be motivated to take care of us. Come on, we are stopping his love when defunding Obamacare (sarc off)
And stop lying. Do not blame any shutdown on the Republicans in the House. They are doing the will of the people. When you blame them for your own obstinate acts, you are lying and you are punishing the people.
It's the primary strategy of the bald-faced-lying liberals - "if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the 'truth'." They are disciples of Alinsky and will use these tactics at all cost.
That being said, spot on post Mr Robinson!
+1 but, the so called shut down is a canard anyway.
What would be shut down that really matters?
We are learning to do without all kinds of services, including access tours of our White Hut.
I don’t think they are going to shutter anything that makes a difference anyway.
I did have dinner with a lovely woman from Virginia couple of months ago. She is a contractor to the government and was losing something like 4 days a months.
Felt bad for her on the one hand and on the other, looking at the bigger picture, couldn’t help but think “Terrible for her and the country knocked a few Benjamin’s off the debt”.
You’re spot on, again.
True, but with the propaganda machine known as the media churning out anti-GOP rhetoric, it will be impossible to convince the pinhead public that 0bama and the dems are to blame.
You mean the Fuhrer and his RAT SS?
Exactly! From National Journal:
In fact, a government shutdown is quite different from the way it is commonly viewed by the public. Although the lapse in discretionary budget authority would likely impact some day-to-day routine operations of the governmentsuch as the National Park Serviceessential and necessary functions of the government and ones that have relevant health-based concerns would continue. Social Security and Medicare would likely continue in large part because they are mandatory programs;A government shutdown seems about as scary as the infamous Sequester.
Social security is not a legitimate government function
Why are we funding it?
Shutting down the Federal government is a good idea under any circumstance. The Federal government is an organ of the rinos and the Dims.
The Federal government is a truly repressive totalitarian organization that oppresses producers so a shut down would be a relief, a holiday for most of us.
Starve the beast.
