Well I would recommend you read it again.

I think I made my point.

Cruz has a huge amount of leadership potential for the GOP for 2016.

I happen to disagree with him on medicine, because I believe we have as much costs being negated in Obamacare, as we have to gain in repealing it.

However I think it is better to stand with Cruz, than against him.

I am more in favor of everything he brings to the ticket, than I am opposed to the changes in medicine.

I do not believe he will be successful in his stand against it. However if anyone can do it, Cruz is at the very top of the list who can pull it off.

I am 100% in support of Cruz.

where in the world have all the rest of the 'pubs been the last five years?

In a back room deciding who's turn it was to have to vote with their constituents yet there still be a majority defeating the conservative cause. I suspect it was all orchestrated so they could be "conservative" on enough votes to stay elected.

That's why we should all be with Cruz and Paul and a few others who are showing some gumption. They have to vote together ALL THE TIME, or Obama wins every issue by a few votes.

Or all those minions in the congress and their families and their hords. If they are exempt, then all should be. The US congress is the only job in America where the “employee” gets to vote in whatever amount of a pay raise they want, choose and fund their own health care and retirement and expense accounts. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING that a congress or senate electee gets, has, uses, etc., THEY decide. No other employee in America or the world for that fact, gets to do that. I wish I could choose my yearly pay raise. In years where the military were held to practically nothing pay raises, social security and the disabled get practically nothing in pay raises, AND THIS SAME BUNCH OF LYING THUGS in congress say we cannot afford all these raises, THEY GIVE THEMSELVES PAY AND BENEFIT RAISES AMOUNTING IN THE TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS PER “employee.” I DO NOT TRUST ANY, AND I MEAN ANY person inside the beltway. None of them. They are all, and again I mean ALL are lying, cheating, stealing, thieves and fools. ALL THE PROBLEMS this nation current faces are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE by the actions of those in congress and the scum in the White House. No others. THEM!!!

You read it again. It makes my head twist. Each sentence which is an opinion on health care is not a sentence And what is not doing with parentheses? I speak and read English and even two other languages. There is no instance for the word, ‘not’, to be in parentheses - even in spoken, non formal language

If you are somehow for govt takeover of health care (which is illogical to begin with) how are you 100% for Cruz’ position? It defies logic

Funny the MSM is trying to say they are not exempt, except when the vote came up in the senate to force congress to use obamacare, it was voted down.
So if they aren’t exempt, why would they need the vote?

I suppose the GOP court eunuchs are fearing the wrath of Emperor Obama. I recall a scene from the movie The Last Emperor where the court eunuchs were fleeing the Forbidden Palace carrying little boxes containing their severed testicles.

OK I’ll try (just) one last time.

After this, we’ll just have to remained puzzled I suppose.

I actually support Obama’s proposed medicare position, for the most part. The current plan is for me, basically the fall-back plan as well. Almost no difference. However the rate at which we continue to offshore American jobs, makes me ever more supportive of an overall American coverage just to be on the safe side.

That said, I am so enthusiastic about all Cruz’ other positions, that I am perfectly willing to be against what (just to me) seems to be improvements in medicine and possibly even see them not enacted, because I am that supportive of Cruz, and the positions of other FReepers.

I recognize I am in a minority. I accept that, and am even willing to vote against my own position in this one issue.

I hope this explains.

(because that’s the last attempt)

:D

Ted Cruz is a radical American in the style of founding Americans.

He too will be victorious. First he has to walk thru a Hell Fire of people who want to hand their freedoms over so they can worship a king. We have been here before.

Same story, different day.

I fear Cruz is doing a Hail Mary—but I’m loving him anyway. Surely timidity hasn’t gotten the GOP anything, why not go for broke? Anyhow, I donated to his effort.

My, my, my. The GOPe in the House are really starting to show their ‘sweat’ that Cruz and Lee’s plan ‘might’ just work and make the ‘House punks’ look even weaker and more disengaged from their electorate than they already look!!!

Exactly. It only unnerves the faint of heart. While I believe there is scant hope for success, the efforts of Senators Cruz and Lee and those leading the charge in the House are inspiring.

Prediction: McCain will defect(officially) sometime after the 2014 elections to improve his chances of being Hillary’s running mate. It won’t work, however, as she’ll pick one of the Castro brothers from San Antonio.

Someone needs to know where a particular person is. And you tell them.

You say, “she went to get the mail”. Subject, verb, a little prep. phrase in there, and there’s peace. No ambiguity. We can even judge when she’ll be back and what frame of mind she might be in at that time.

There are no parentheses, no ambiguous words like “costs” in such a position that the reader doesn’t know whether it is functioning, in this sentence, as a verb or a noun. And they give up.

While in college, I used to watch ‘Firing Line’, with Wm. Buckley. His authentic assertions were engaging, and I would read his essays. I realized his sentences could be the length of a normal paragraph, but I could follow his thoughts easily, as his sentences always had clear structure, following a complete thought.

And sometime in the 1980s I picked up ‘Newsweek’. I read an article about half way through, and discarded it. I think I never read an article published in that magazine since then. It was so full of big words used simply to obfuscate and sway opinion I couldn’t take it.

I digress.

I think what you are saying is you enjoy the ‘free’ medical care, or the promise of future safety, but you follow everything else that is against that.

But it’s difficult to put into words, because it’s difficult to admit you want that safety net.

I don’t know.

But I am interested because as our health care system goes through a necessary revolution, a lot of people will not like Ted Cruz as you do. And I think a lot will be forced to like him beyond what they’re used to because they’ll sense that he loves this country and he’s working for the people in his charge by being ultimately informed.

And the accusations of, ‘mean spirited’, ‘not Hollywood looking enough’ will move in, as they already have.

Whether it’s Ted Cruz or someone else way in the future, if our country is going to get back on track, people are going to have to stop expecting ‘free’ govt stuff.

It is not free, it never was, and it’s why we got into this mess.

Third party payer came in mid century, then Medicare came in. Many conservatives were against it, if not all, I imagine, for the very reasons it failed. It was abused widely, but it was likely doomed anyway. It is bankrupt or close to it or headed in that direction.

For anyone to say they like it and want to build on it is the kind of short sightedness that puts us into a mess.

This is not a country of earners taking care of the non earners. It’s being tried, but, in the end, the non earners will have less than nothing when the money finally ends up all in the hands of the ones running this Ponzi scheme - the higher echelons of government - who are all busy pointing at Wall Streeters and others.

BO care is a scheme which takes money from the middle class and shunts it to non earners.

With 23 million on food stamps (yes, the highest level ever), why would anyone continue working to have their earnings taken from them? What will happen when everyone just stops working?

Even if, as you say, medicare increases under BO Care, how does it make sense? It is bankrupt. Not form abuse, but by design.

Our medical system is not improving, that is a dream. No one wants to get into medicine. There are no studies and great research being done.

As it is, machinery and equipment will start fading out, there will be much less time spent with doctors and even nurses.

THe turn this is going to take is back to what it was before 3rd party came in promising the moon and medicare came in driving business and prices up, and not paying, self care.

That is what Is going to drive people to hatred. They’re going to have to take care of themselves and their families. They’re going to have to learn how to cook and manage and treat and diagnose. THey will not be able to get obese and go in and demand that the doctor take care of the complications.

People know it, so they want BO to stave it off with empty promises and theft.

But it’s coming.

“Cruz, Lee Plan on ‘Obamacare’ Unnerves Some in GOP”

With this being the way the media is reporting on this, it is pretty much understandable why some would be unnerved...they know full well the press is going to create phony narratives and dialog to pain the GOP in a bad light. Look at this headline and article as another example - the point of this article it not to discuss the numerous reasons why Obamacare must be repealed or discussion as to the complete disaster it has been and will continue to be...just basically saying they just want to get it off the books for the heck of it because they don’t like Obama. No discussion about the Cleveland Clinic disaster, millions who can’t find adequate work or work at all, that have lost their jobs or had their hours cut back, who will never find work because the jobs were never created, have lost their health insurance due to the law making the insurance illegal, etc, etc. etc.

Looks like actually it is a 527 group that is backing McConnell.

Aside from McConnell, though, the ad actually goes beyond just saying “get rid of Obamacare” and provides a good, very real example of how the law is hurting people. Much more substantive than many GOP ads. Don’t just say the law must be repealed - give some real examples of why.

McConnell is running a campaign ad that trashes his opponent (I assume RAT)for being in favor of Obamacare. He says Obamacare should be “taken out — root and branch”. If he votes for funding it, he will have some ‘splainin’ to do and will give his opponent in the GOP primary some good ammunition!
