Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) were on Hannity Wednesday night to discuss the ObamaCare fight now that they have gotten what they wanted and the onus is on the Senate to pass the continuing resolution defunding it.
Cruz declared, "Mike Lee and I are gonna fight with with every breath in our body. As Churchill said, we will fight on the beaches, we will fight on the streets, we will fight at every step to stop the biggest job killer in America."
Lee made the point that once the CR passes the House, "the only people who can produce a government shutdown are Harry Reid, the Senate Democrats and the President of the United States."

Why not have the true Republicans require a BINDING, updated, “Federal Financial Impact Statement” for 2012-2013 fiscal year, and 2013-2014 f. y. for Obama”care?”
It should take a month or two to complete, allow for a vote to delay Obama”care” for a year, and then show the great financial harm to our Economy that the Statement’s numbers will document.
Wharton, Stanford, Michigan and Princeton could also file their independent Financial Impact Statements to compare to the Office of Budget and the Congressional Budget Office Financial Impact Statements.

Lee gets it. This is a graduate level course in message management, an area where the GOP traditionally crashes and burns like the Hindenburg.
There is a Class One opportunity to educate people on how Constitutional government is supposed to work, with the House originating a revenue bill.

You have hit on why the Repubs lose all the time ... they are defensive and react rather than going on the offensive and taking off the boxing gloves (the Dems are masters at this) while doing it. Cruz, Lee, etc. are bare knucklers ..... and I respect them for it and support them.
It may need explaining to those people, that politicrats need to get guidance before giving it, and your phone call is your donation to the cause.
Well, Sen Cruz is, thankfully, my Senator. I’ll all Corny’s office, once again, and see if he’s planning on supporting Cruz and Lee.

I don’t believe you can filibuster a CR under the rules (it is like an appropriation bill)

Sorry, I know what you mean. My Respresentative is Steve Cohen. Used to be Martha Blackburn, but they changed the districts around.
