No, he gave you sex-ed every day. You just didn't know it. By being a responsible father and role model, by controlling what you watched on TV and what he allowed into his house, by regulating your language, by having clear standards on behavior - you knew that there were consequences to actions.
The public schools can teach "sex-ed" every day for as long as they want, and it will not change by one iota the behavior of children of broken families and a degraded culture.
Condoms aren’t even that effective, honestly. They are made of a rubber type material (Latex) that is naturally porous. That’s what makes it stretchy and flexible, by the way. Sure the little holes are extremely tiny (microscopic) most times. But those little bitty holes are still about 10 times the size of the HIV virus. They didn’t teach us that about condoms in nursing school, of course. I learned that fact from an Immunologist who says that condoms are virtually worthless. But we did learn that those gloves we use in patient care (which are also latex or nylon) are porous for the same reasons. And we were advised to wear 2 or 3 sets of gloves in dealing with people carrying viruses - like Hep B or C, HIV, HPV, Herpes, or various flu viruses. And another by the way for those interested: alcohol gel doesn’t kill viruses, only bacteria. So, don’t expect that sanitizing gel to do anything to protect you against viruses. YOu have to use soap, water, and good friction for that. Just FYI.
