It probably is true, but ignored by the mainstream media. They can’t make much of a profit off good news.
I beg to differ with you. My husband and I lived in Saudi Arabia for five years, in the Eastern Province. We worked for Saudi Aramco. We lived on a beautiful camp right on the Arabian Gulf...that's what the folks over there call the Persian Gulf.
We had "special teachers" there: a priest for the Roman Catholics, called the "RC Morale Group," a minister for all the Protestants, called the "Fellowship," and an Anglican priest for the five or six Anglicans on camp. I can't recall their "official" name.
Mass was held in the priest's home, then in a large meeting room, not a Church at all, but our place of worship. There was a Mass every day at 9:00 A.M. and we worked Saturdays-Wednesdays...so I WANTED to go to Mass on Sundays.
The Mass was held 3 minutes from where I worked so I walked over to hear Mass and made up the 20-25 minutes or so of work time by working during my lunch-hour.
My co-worker, an Indian Catholic, was GREATLY annoyed at me and my daily Mass and he said he was going to tell my boss (an older Saudi man) on me if I didn't stop. He said I should not take off work to go to Mass. We brangled for weeks; I wouldn't stop going to daily Mass so he went and told on me.
There in the hallway, with my Saudi boss listening, my co-worker told my boss about my daily Mass attendance during work hours.
My boss said: "James (not his real name), God is number one. There is always time for God. Angel can go pray whenever she wants to."
I don't know whose mouth dropped farther or faster to the floor, the Indian's or mine. So that was that. I COULD go to pray...at Mass whenever I wanted.
I had never gone to daily Mass while I lived here in the states. I just went on Sundays and holy days. However, after that experience in Saudi Arabia, I now DO go to Mass every single day and THANK the Lord for having the opportunity to do so.
I found my faith in SAUDI ARABIA.
Go figure. God DOES work in mysterious ways, doesn't He?
