They can’t allow it go any further

Who is "they"? The handful of Congress not being bought or blackmailed? Care to give us your estimated vote count for House members who will shut down the government in 2 weeks rather than submit to a deal?

Some state employee emailed a bunch of people’s SSN #s to a broker.

Are they required to notify those people that their personal information was potentially exposed?

The happiest people in nobamadontcare will be the “navigators”. Mainly, fools who love nobama and don’t give a rat’s a** about anything else.

Figures. I work for a financial institution, and they'd come down on us with both feet and a 2x4 if we did that.

Gee. You seem to be dodging a question: When was the last time something like this repealed?
If it gets funded, it is permanent. When it effs up, the Democrats will not get the blame, and Congress will throw more money at it rather than let it die.
Dunno how many Congresscritters have the guts to stick it out, but they need to. “Shutting down the government” is better than letting this monstrosity through.

Catastrophic Medicare Coverage, 1989.

Smaller than Obamacare, but a nearly exact parallel otherwise (exception being that it was passed by clear bipartisan majorities and signed by a GOP president)

Read up on it: given the reaction by the public at the time to having been duped, even hard core Democrats were running from the thing like scalded dogs and couldn’t repeal it fast enough.

In his memo, CEO Dan Bane added “And the best part is that you don’t even need to buy insurance until after you are really ill since you can’t be denied insurance for pre-existing conditions. Any fine that you may be charged with for not having insurance is minimal compared to the cost of actual insurance, and there’s no way the IRS can collect the fine anyway if you don’t over with hold on your advance tax payments.”

mountn man ~:" Obamacare was NEVER meant to succeed.
Single payer was the goal from the get go."

I beleive that part is true .
And we all know how the government runs everything more efficiently , effectively and less expensively .. NOT !
I believe "Mengele-Care ™” was designed to bankrupt the government more quickly via personal cost , federal employees,
and elimination of private health insurance companies.
Think what will happen when no one can afford coverage for any health treatment and some type of epidemic occurs.
At that point there will only be the "money and power elites " ,... and the rest of us .

Makes a lot of sense imho.

That is a winner in 2014 but the GOP should have a replacement plan for 2016 because Hillary will; single payer like in 1993.

Am I missing something or is shifting the employer-provided health insurance to a lump-sum pay-out to the employee exposing that pay-out to individual Federal income taxes now?

Yes this should be taxable but the employee can deduct it. The cash subsidy to congressional people will be taxable too.

The whole impetus behind Obamacare was companies who wanted to shift the costs of employee health care off of their books and onto the public treasury. It’s why they supported it. It’s why they continue to acquiesce in it. It’s why they continue to pull the golden chains that keep Republicans from defunding it.

I don’t have a contract with my employer.
*****************************************
BS , you give them work in return for pay , the pay includes bene’s ,, if they cancel your bene’s they have broken your contract with them and lowered your pay.

There is no way to ever “know” the total costs. They will just grow and grow and grow and grow and grow. The tab will never stop growing.

“and that is why Krauthammer advised the GOP to stop fighting implementation now,let the debacle occur, let people see what they bought when they voted democrat, let GOP win the next round of elections, and then repeal or amend the law.

Makes a lot of sense imho.”

Yeah, cuz the debacle called social security led to conservative rule for decades, oh wait.....well, we have medicaid that went that way, oh wait.....Yep, every debacle has been overturned...oh wait, I have NEVER seen or even heard of one of the marxist debacles being overturned.

One must ignore history to WANT for Obamacare to be implemented in full. Not one of the debacles we have today was passed with popularity. People darn near revolted over medicair when it was passed, yet today they will revolt if you attemt to “overturn” it.

Kraut is always wrong before he eventually comes around, that anyone gives him credibility is amazing to me.

“I usually think the hammer is a genius “

If you actually listened to him, you would find that he almost always comes out on the wrong side of any issue in his initial reaction. Then he amends his position later and seems like a genius. To me, that shows that his core is flawed, or that he should just shut up until he is confident later.

“Catastrophic Medicare Coverage, 1989”

After doing a quick perusal of different information, it looks to me more like this was a change in the tax structure that was put in place to pay for catastrophic coverage for all medicare eligible folks. That is not at all a parallel to Obamacare! Tax rates and the overall tax structure is tweeked all the time, the parallel to Obamacare being repealed would be if Medicare was repealed in total.

Go back and reasearch the initial reaction to the passage of medicare. It darn near led to a revolution! Yet, if you tried to repeal it today, you would have a revolt to keep it.

Obamacare goes much further and creates many more parasites.
