Dallas resident Katrina Pierson announced that she is a candidate for the US House of Representatives.
Today, I am proud to announce my candidacy for the United States Congress in Texas 32nd Congressional district .
Katrina for Congress @KatrinaPierson
Pierson explains her reasons for running in a Facebook post.
I am proud to announce my candidacy for the United States Congress in Texas 32nd Congressional district.
I was raised in this district. It is my home. I have seen it grow into one of the most vibrant, influential areas in the country. Families of all backgrounds call this district home, raise families, and start businesses here.
But we are not represented by the best in Texas.
As you may know, today is also the one-year anniversary of the day the Benghazi cover-up began. Americans were killed. And corruption and cover-up once again reared their ugly head. Far too often politicians who have been in Washington too long put their interests ahead of us my family my neighbors. Their selfish, corrupt dealings are harming our freedoms and rapidly stripping us of our liberties that were bought at the ultimate price. Politicians who have been in Washington far too long who once had the appearance of stellar voting records have rapidly sacrificed their principles in the name of political expediency.
Thats why Im running for Congress. Because, like you, I know we can do better. That our best days are not behind us. That the American people will not stand idly by while our country is lost to the least of its citizens.
The people of my hometown deserve an elected leader who will fight for them a leader who wont play the go-along-to-get along, business-as-usual politics that have been hurting this country for so long

Doesn’t say if she’s running as a Democrat or a Republican. (Or maybe libertarian - they usually pull 2-2.5% of the vote).
Pete Session’s seat, for those keeping score. Constituents would include W & Laura, Ross Perot, Jerry Jones, etc. Highland & University Park, Richardson, Irving, and North Dallas.
Well, I’m pretty sure we can rule out Democrat and the safe play would be Republican unless the Tea Party party grows legs.
Republican.
If Pierson gets the nomination along with Mia Love in Utah and Erika Harold in IL, we’ll have 3 Black GOP women elected all at once to Congress.
Classy looking (but aren’t all Republican women?)
More often than not.
Who is the incumbent?
If Obama had a daughter, she wouldn't come anywhere close to being as awesome as Katrina Pierson.
Pete Sessions (boo)
Thanks for the video links. She’s a firecracker!
Hope it happens because in 2010 Star Parker and Angela McGowan failed to make it. They should try again.
How you do’n darlin.....
The eastern Dallas TX-32 is actually the least conservative CD in Texas that is held by a Republican, but Pierson should win the general even if the primary against Sessions gets a bit testy, given that the district gave Romney 57% and McCain 55%.
Curiously, there is a black, female Republican state representative from Dallas County, and it isn’t Pierson: her name is Stephani Carter, and she’s running for Railroad Commissioner (a statewide office) next year: http://www.carterfortexas.com/
There is no Tea Party Party and if there ever is take a look at the results of the 1912 election to see what would happen.
Why’d her mama have to go and leave the e off the end of her name?
Anyway, Sessions is a disappointment like Cantor.
Star Parker ran in safe rat seat she had no hope of winning.
McGowan made some wrong remarks on guns and refused to back the Republican that beat her in the primary (that man went on to win and now holds the seat).
