What he meant... We've regulated, tracked and interfered with private sales, we've approved some arms and disapproved others, we've taxed, and we've made open carry unlawful in the very places it would be the most prudent to carry, we have shown contempt to the public and sheriffs and to the democratic process, but dabmabit you can still keep and bear an approved arm in some places in Colorado. We wish it were not so but that second amendment keeps us from implementing our utopian vision of total disarmament of the the public.
Governor, I propose that the you demonstrate your respect for equal protection and the bill of rights by signing a bill that has the same regulations for voting as for fire arm purchasing. Both rights have the same registration process, the same waiting period the same tracking, the same jurisdictional recognition ie if you can be seen voting in Denver you can open carry your fire arm in Denver. Do you have the moral spine to provide equal protection for both rights?
In Colorado that means we check what is behind the target before we shoot - you know check the background.
Indeed
lol
“Hickenlooper rhymes with Chicken Pooper. Both smell about the same.”
Click the link and read the comments, they have some good names for him.
OK, we’ve recalled two Donkey CO senators (one of the the Senate President). When can we expect a recall of Governor Hickenlooper? Sending a sitting governor packing would send a very powerful message to the gun grabbers.
They should be standing up against a wall, for their deeds and aims are criminal.
Blindfold?
Cigarette?
Can’t have it both ways, Chickenhelper.
Why bother, 2014 is just around the corner and he will have to face the voters then. Recalling the two senators was a strategic move. No only did it shift the mix of the senate so that the dems hold it by only one vote, it has fired up the base and put a palpable energy into the grass roots.
I predict that the GOP will flip the Senate, take the Gov (if we run a conservative) and will flip the house but just by a few seats.
Good for you! And Colorado!
Absolutely right. He inserted the word "universal" to support background checks for private sales, which wasn't in the question. What was in the question was current policy, which is why the approval was so high. Bait-and-switch. Nice.
