'Course I am more and more inclined NOT to believe the authorities' side of the story.
I'll sit patiently by to hear, as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story.
One the one hand: When someone is shooting at you, their age is a non-factor.
One the other hand: Seems like they could have waited him out if he wasn’t randomly shooting and endangering people while holed up.
He’s 107, how long can he stay awake?
Hardly a shootout.
He was shortly thereafter MURDERED by armed invaders with stinking badges.
“If SWAT is called out, something or someone must die.”
Must have been a Christian gentleman.
Used to be, anyway.
Darn right, I'd plug their asses too if they farted in my room. Especially if they tip over my soaking dentures or upset my diaper bucket.

They could have backed off—they got the people out— and the dude gone to sleep. 107 year old people sleep alot. You send in a bomb squad guy fully protected and nobody gets hurt. You do not kill an old, old man. Real machismo, and real chicken-crap way to do it. It has happened before, with old ladies with pistols firing off way out in the country in FL— only a harm to themselves.
If this was “in-town” then understand the greater threat to neighbors. But really— 107 years old... that is pretty fragile physically and mentally.
So SWAT is now a ‘backup’ call-in? What weapon or tactic was needed to wait out a 107yr old??
Anyone else have a problem with any part of this scenario?

Somehow the avalanche that hit the MSM on the death of Trayvon Martin, does not seem to arrive. Perhaps I am wrong and Isadore was white.
They murdered a legally blind and nearly deaf 107 year old man.
PINE BLUFF, Ark. (TheBlaze/AP) — A 107-year-old man is dead after SWAT officers shot back at him during a standoff at a home in the southeast Arkansas city of Pine Bluff, police say.
But friends and fellow church members say that Monroe Isadore was legally blind and nearly deaf and shouldn’t have died that way.
“I’m in shock today,” Larry Smith, who attended church with Isadore at New Direction Baptist, told KLRT-TV.
“He couldn’t hear,” Smith said. “Somebody should’ve told the [police] he couldn’t hear.”
Friends told KLRT that Isadore was also legally blind and believe Isadore must have been confused.
“For that to happen and like that… had to be,” Smith said.
Isadore was a God-fearing man who grew vegetables and gave them away at church, according to those who knew him.
“That’s the kind of man that our police department killed,” said Pine Bluff resident Gary Wilson to KLRT.
The Pine Bluff Police Department declined to comment on the case until Monday, KLRT said.
Pine Bluff Lt. David Price tells KATV-TV that police officers called to the home Saturday were told Isadore had pointed a weapon at two people there.
107 Year Old Man Dies in Shootout with SWAT Team

Officers had the threatened pair leave the home and approached a bedroom. Police say Isadore shot through the door at officers but missed hitting them.
More officers were called, including a SWAT team that inserted a camera into the room and confirmed Isadore had a handgun.
Police say SWAT officers released gas into the room when negotiations didn’t work. They say Isadore shot at officers who KATV reports entered the room, and the officers fired back, killing Isadore.
