Reality intrudes on a hot dream. The globe cools, and Al Gore’s ‘Climate Reality’ does, too
Washington Times ^ | Sept 5, 2013 | Washington Times Editorial

Al Gore's multimillion-dollar scheme to persuade the world that global warming is about to boil, fry or saute us all is disappearing faster than an ice cube on the sidewalk on a summer day.

The scorekeepers of global-warming alarmism, the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change, is about to release its fifth Assessment Report, which is said to admit that the planet has been cooling, not warming. A leaked draft version of the report concedes the very inconvenient truth, and casts doubt on the claim that man plays a role in triggering "extreme weather."

Since the planet hasn't been warming at all, it's only a matter of time before the public catches on and good ol' Al and his schemes will be put permanently on ice.

I guess the raised-in-the-WDC-ritz-penthouse fatso, algore, will have to add more fireplaces to his various mansions. His former wife, tipper, realized that algore is a vacuuous, pin-headed fool...now, maybe more people will understand this absolute truth.

I didn’t know they were divorced back in 2010. Maybe she realized it was a scam, too, and didn’t want any part of it.

I have one question for all these "climate change" morons:
What is the weather going to be like in 2 WEEKS? I want temperature within +/- a single degree, percentage of cloud cover and altitude, and local barometric pressure, at 12 noon, local time.

Until they can give that data, consistently, why should I believe their outlandish claims of being able to predict temperature trends for fifty or one hundred years in the future?

Gore is ahead of this....

The term they are now using is "climate change". They acknowledge that there will be some cooling.

The new term and their hopes that it will catch on rely on 2 things:

1. That the American public does not understand the meaning of the word "climate"

2. That the American public do not understand how averages work.

A climate is an average of the weather conditions for an area. You can use a 10 span, 20 year span, a 100 year span. Note, you should tell people what you have used - but if you "hide it" in the fine print of your "study" they are likely never to read it.

Now, remember that an average is obtained by adding the scores - or in this case temperatures - together and dividing them by the number of years you used for your study.

By definition, climate changes! It is not stable. It has never been stable. It will not be stable. Climates change. Go back far enough, and the changes aren't exactly drastic. Moreover, they appear to follow trends.

The hyper-fear based "research" did what I just explained. People didn't bother to look at how it was put together. They saw "scientists" put it together and never asked, "wait, who is paying these people and what are their backgrounds?"

I am sick of these dirty, untrained, fear pimps making a buck. Gore, you suck. I was glad to vote against you in MY home state of Tennessee... you fat phony.

If anything he has gotten better over the years.

One thing that I like about him, and I hate to come at it from this angle, but the truth is he has a Hispanic name, and he expresses the views of Conservatism very well.

Makes you wonder how many people in that segment of our society notice this, and have second thoughts.

Al Gore has had a good ride while it lasted.

I remember that while he was in the Senate he pushed through a ban on halocarbon refrigerants (CFCs)that resulted in the scrapping and replacement of every air conditioner in the U.S. with a unit that didn’t use CFCs. Gore’s claim that these CFCs somehow depleted the ozone layer over the South Pole and everyone was going to die as a result was later found to be invalid when it was learned that the extreme winter cold of the South Pole caused this hole in the ozone layer, this hole had nothing to do with CFCs, and had probably been occurring since the beginning of time. But Al Gore still walked away from this scam a multi-millionaire, and I’m sure a grateful air conditioner manufacturing industry had nothing to do with his ill gotten gains.

Al Gore was so successful in his “Ozone Hole” scam that he then created the Global Warming scam to continue amassing a fortune that is now estimated at 200 million dollars. Not bad for a man who has never worked a day in his life.

For the economic damage algore has done to this planet, he should, at the very least, be made to pay back every dime he’s made as an AGW huckster. Hell, all of his wealth should be confiscated and used to break ground on a new oil refinery on the gulf coast.

How about a global class action lawsuit against Al Gore for lying to the world?

We all ask for 1 dollar. Let him fork out a few hundred million plus postage.

The Weather Channel hasn't given up on “glowbull warming/climate change”. They are still touting it this morning with stories about how hot it got in Russia.

BINGO!! We have a winner! No need to look any further.

I have issued that challenge to a liberal, who replied to me that global warming "science" is based on statistics, and that's why it's more accurate than the weather, because it's the overall trend that they're measuring, not individual data points.

No, I didn't make that up - it's the actual answer I got.
