Direct link between Assad and gas attack elusive for U.S.

(Reuters) - With the United States threatening to attack Syria, U.S. and allied intelligence services are still trying to work out who ordered the poison gas attack on rebel-held neighborhoods near Damascus.

No direct link to President Bashar al-Assad or his inner circle has been publicly demonstrated, and some U.S. sources say intelligence experts are not sure whether the Syrian leader knew of the attack before it was launched or was only informed about it afterward.

Is reuters calling John F! Kerry a liar? Because he said it’s for sure Assad is responsible.

I think they’re trying to find a way to back Obama out of his own stupidity. I hope so, at least.

He himself is too arrogant and self-obsessed to want to do this, but there must be some more realistic people left around him, particularly in the military, who realize the potential damage (such as setting off WWIII) that could result from his rash and irrational acts. I think they’re trying to give him an out.

Yup. When I read the headline, I knew for sure that this is creating the escape hatch the Dear One needs to get out of the quagmire of his own making. WAIT! We can’t bomb Syria because Assad didn’t do it!

I think they’re trying to find a way to back Obama out of his own stupidity.

That may well be the case. Just my opinion, but I said that yesterday that he will not launch. It will be easy for the knee padders to spin that as his unprecedented wisdom backing away from the brink.

The real danger of Dear Leader backing down is the damage that will be caused when John McCain's head explodes. He came close the other night when some constituents challenged him. The pResident pulling back from the brink just might push him over the edge.

Wasn't Fast & Furious a false flag type operation, illegally letting guns 'walk' into Mexican drug cartels hands as a means to promote greater gun control in the USA.

Bengahzi was a gun running operation where the consulate and CIA annex was attacked and hundreds of missiles were stolen, not a protest about an obscure Internet video.

So the skepticism is fully warranted in the chemical weapon use in Syria.

To a Saul Alinsy disciple like Obama, the end always justifies the means.

Citizens are just supposed to take the word of Obama and Kerry and John McCain, then sit down and shut up.

Their word is all the proof we need

How dare we challenge our Beltway Royalty.

"The Syrian government, backed by Russia, blames Sunni rebels for the gas attack. Russia says Washington has not provided convincing proof that Assad's troops carried out the attack and called it a "provocation" by rebel forces hoping to encourage a military response by the United States."

BINGO!!!

And who are the "rebels" -- a bunch of Al Qaeda and other terrorists.
