Anyone who flunks the ethics training should be taken up in an aircraft and forced to step out without a parachute. It would end the glut of shyters.

Maybe all we need is a good 6-week intensive online law school course. With affirmative action grading. Anyone can be a lawyer.

Obama thinks it should only take 2 years for a JD because he would cut all of the Constitutional Law Courses and all of the Taxation Courses.

At my Law School, they had to set up remedial English classes for those students that were admitted in an effort to boost diversity. No way they can learn English and Law in 2 years. For most of them, they never did learn either in 3 years.

The first year of law school they scare you to death, the second year, they work you to death. The third year, they bore you to death. But three years is about right.

And for ethics, they only offered one three hour course when I was in law school and it was the most boring course they offered. It was even worse than Antitrust Law and Administrative Law. I spent most of the class in the back row reading the Sporting News. They should make six hours the minimum. However, for much of what constitutes a knowledge of ethics, if you don’t already have a fundamental ethical make up when you get to law school, it’s not going to teach it to you.

Like most issues, this is one where 0bama should just shut up and leave it to people who know what they are doing.

And the ethics testing includes a battery of polygraph testing, to preclude lying. (Of course, many lawyers have no conscience, so this might not work.)

Have a more formal pre-law undergrad degree which includes a lot of what is in the first year of law school. Then law school could be done in two years.

Obama should have had at least 12 years of law school. He doesn’t seem to understand the law, or the Constitution.

Speaking as a former Prosecutor of 25 years, it should be 2 years with a 3 year being “in the field”. Oddly, law school does nothing to teach you about practicing law. It just trains you to think like a lawyer.

I’d like to start a capture, spay / neuter and release program for feral lawyers (I know, redundant phrase).

Let them live, but not continue breeding.

If a few die of infection, well, it’s not like there’s some kind of shortage...
