"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

If it weren’t for us fighting muslim wars, we wouldn’t be at war with anyone (aside from the technical state of war with North Korea) as far as I can tell.

Hey, don’t call it a war. September 11 is Assad’s birthday. It’s just a candygram from obama and the rest of the MoBro.

Thanks, SCP, for this breath of fresh air in an otherwise putrid “system”.
Wait til they get hold of the word “abstract” in connection with this issue. Instead of treating it in context to reference THEIR OWN abstractions about justifications for war, they will go freakin’ nuts and try to say Ted thinks chemical weapons themselves and their gassed victims are “abstractions”.
Kerry in particular will go from being merely “mental” to off the deep end “certifiable”.

Well, international “norm” is a cute new euphemism that Kerry came up with to avoid using the word international “law” which they use to throw around when attacking Bush. With the U.N. telling Obama to go pound sand, and none of the U.S. traditional allies wanting to touch Syria with a 10-foot pole, Kerry has decided to start playing word games with Congress and the American public.

We’re on the verge of getting involved in a civil / holy war between 3 groups of muslims and several groups of terrorist. We don’t really know which group if any was responsible for the gassing or who supplied the gas, was it the saddam’s gas? was it supplied by the UK? or possibly even by us? and we’re going to attack the group that has been protecting rather than killing and beheading Christians? I certainly agree with Senato Cruz.
