No, just realistic of the dangers posed by these feral black thugs. Me & a friend of mine were attacked by 5 black teens a few years ago as we were walking home approx 10 pm after participating in an AAU wrestling tournament. He was hit in the eye, and the attacker yelled out “Ooooo I hit him in the eye”. So I know first hand what these animals are like.
Many US cities have a MLK Blvd. or Avenue ... without exception they are all in the bad part of their respective cities.
Wonder why ...
Portland needs a woman like your niece. The reason it is so liberal, is because it is so secular, ah so atheist. It rotates between Portland and Seattle which is more atheist in the nation.
Less than half the population of Oregon is native born, descendants of loggers and whores and the other half I suspect are mostly from California migrated to Portland to make it into their liberal utopia, no fishing the rivers or oceans and no cutting of trees!
What does it take to get the folks in Portland riled up about something?
Oh yeah.. refuse to bake some lesbians a wedding cake.
Your niece is quite brave.
It sometimes gets too easy to become inflamed by stories of crimes & injustices on this site, that unfortunately are being committed all around us. That however is no excuse for becoming inflamed myself and using harsh, angry, vindictive words. My apologies to your niece & her mother as well. I hope & pray that your niece remains safe & protected in her mission project.
Thank you. I accept and appreciate your words.
I struggle with both hatred and despair. I have to remind myself that the source of that is the enemy of my soul. Getting that sorted out helps.
When I allow evil acts to drive me to hatred of the perps, then the enemy has gained a degree of control. I must reject that.
rcrngroup, thank you for your thoughtful remarks.
I totally understand how strong feelings could ignite into harsh words. I’ve got those inflammatory ingredients on tap, too! I really respect you for the forthright apology, and I accept your support on behalf of Allison with gratitude.
Continued prayers for my brave Christian niece would be appreciated. Portland is a hella tough mission territory!
But if an equal number of white dumbasses were attacking blacks, it would dominate page one for weeks and cue the Runnin' Reverends to start a march.
Small correction.
No MLK Boulevard, I'll wager.
You are a thinking person, my friend. Stay safe!
Dono: love the shape note singing links on your personal page!
This world would be better if more people would sing.
Do you have a car or just the bicycle?
Several cars, several bikes.
Yikes. If you ever see a street sign that says, “Martin Luther King Boulevard”, hit the brakes and get out of there as fast as you can.
Unless you're there to score drugs.
Thanks for being OK. I realized that I was off on a tangent the moment I finally understood that you were talking about fundamentals not my rant about licensing bikes.
I'd also say that two things that cyclists do that are among the most dangerous don't seem to bother motorists very much: 1) riding at night with nothing but reflectors and 2) passing cars on the right at intersections. Both of these things are suicidal.
On the other hand, motorists don't realize in most states it's unlawful for cyclists to ride on the berm unless it's a designated bike lane. They're also unaware that in most states they must yield the right of way to oncoming cyclists at intersections, or that in most states they may not lawfully pass without a minimum of 3 feet clearance from their outside right mirror and the cyclists left handlebars [actually, in most states it's now 4 feet.]
For about 90% of my commute I can use a bike path. Unfortunately, for the other 10% I'm on surface streets with vehicles. I wish cops would cite cyclists who don't use hand signals, then I would not have to renegotiate the vehicle code at every encounter with every driver who thinks she's doing me a favor by stopping dead in the middle of the street to yield a right of way that isn't mine (and isn't hers to yield.) Also wish dipsh!t bikers would understand that the law requires them to get as far to the right of a travel lane as possible. This means in most jurisdictions its absolutely a violation to ride side-by-side if there's traffic behind. If cops would just cite cyclists for that I wouldn't have jackasses trying to run me off the road because of cyclists who pull this stunt on them earlier in the day.
Anyway, my bike, like my M&P 40. If someone assaults me and tries to take my bike, they're going to discover that not everyone who wants to stay in shape is a weenie libtard.
