True, but legalizing all drugs would bankrupt the gangs.

I agree the 'War on Drugs ' is a liberty eroding failure but ending it won't solve the underlying problems. Very few of these inner city gangs are anywhere close to what you call organized or are dependent on income to remain viable like there were the ghetto version of the Corleones. They are just a loose association of young men that grew up together and commit crimes together. If drugs are made legal these cretins wont' suddenly become upstanding citizens. They find other illicit ways to make money and may become even more dangerous. Plus you'll still have to contend with all the degenerate drug abusers who'll be degenerates on or off drugs.

With unrestricted drug availability, within a year or two druggies would mostly be dead from overdoses.
