Obama Refers to U.S. Armed Forces as ‘My Military’; Twitter Users Go Just a Tad Ballistic

In case you missed it, President Obama referred to the United States armed forces as “my military” during a statement to the media regarding the Syrian crisis Friday.

“But as I’ve already said,” Obama noted, “I have had my military and our team look at a wide range of options.”

And Twitter users went and got themselves into a bit of a twist:

***Various tweets***

What do you think? Innocent semantics, a slip of the tongue…or something else?

Here’s the clip of Obama’s utterance from Fox News via YouTube:

Does he ever say “My Michelle”? How about “my country”?

Or “My fellow Americans”?

He’s a boot-licking butt licker. He refers to it as “MY” Military in the descriptive sense of it being made in ‘my image’, going from all voluntary to all LGBT, a military force once, the admiration of the world has now been degraded to the equivalent of Chelsea’s three ring freak show. If you’re male when enlisted, you don’t have to be when you’re discharged. (Now, that’s a pun I’m not going near)

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States........

something to keep in mind as we debate the war powers.

Too many possessive pronouns are the hallmark of narcicism and needing credit for anything he can attach himself to while divorcing himself for that which he is rightly responsible for.

He created Syria.

Why?

I think he meant to say ‘my military advisors’ reading the context of what he was saying?

What to do when this part: "...I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic... has to deal with the enemy being ...the President of the United States....

What has that man done to the benefit of the US?

How much has he done which has harmed it?

How much has he done to provide aid (military support) and comfort to our enemies?

And here we go again.

America didn't want his "healthcare" program.

BOHICA

America would not have approved of running guns to Mexican Drug Cartels.

BOHICA

America scratched its head at military intervention in "protests" in Libya and Egypt...

BOHICA

America doesn't want to become involved in Syria, especially on the side of the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaida...(like Egypt and Libya)....

?

The teleprompter reader just can’t hack it without his script.

This guy just isn’t qualified for the job in any way shape or form. He’s become a global laughingstock.... The only thing more embarrassing to America are the fools who voted for him.

Shortly before he began his first power Valerie Jarrett, in an interview still available on YouTube, said that Obama was “prepared to really take power and begin to rule on day one.” He has had dictatorial tendencies since before he was sworn in.

His first term, not his first power. Sorry for the typo.

I'm not so sure America voted for him, but the ballot count we were handed told us so, even though there were precincts with over 100% of registered voters voting and which voted 100% for Obama.

If you want to believe that was anything but fraud, I have some swampland for sale...and a bridge.

I don't believe he was legitimately elected. Furthermore, I don't believe he is even Constitutionally eligible to hold the office.

The oath you quoted is a National Guard oath.

The oath for regular service officers in the Army, Navy Air Force and Marines contains no such provision. Here it is, verbatim:

"I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

This oath is specifically constructed to put the onus of conscience on the individual officer. Why the NG oath differs, I am not certain, but the regular service officers are bound only by the oath as quoted above.

He also, probably, had a hand in creating the Iraq insurgency.

When a certain group of people, who some of you would probably recognize, set up the insurgency, all things point to them being very conversant with Obama. That was in 2003. From 2007 out, that same group was helping Obama with planning and political action.

And yes, the AQ Iraq insurgency was set up by Saudi Arabia and helpers of many different kinds in the US. The group knew *everything* about insurgency financing, routes into the country, recruiting and so on several days before we saw the first resistance.

Thanks for clearing that up!

I'm not sure why the National Guard oath is that way, either. Especially since most states consider their detachments to be the official State Militia.
