Maybe Obama knows he has the votes thanks to Boner and McCain.

Congress comes back September 9. I suspect that BO is going to ask Boner and The Dim Bulb From Searchlight to vote on authorization for military action against Syria first, then, win or lose, he’ll attack on September 11 so nobody will bother to note that it’s the anniversary of Benghazi.

Assad killing Syrian children is an atrocity, so Hussein is going to punish him by killing Syrian children.

Obama can’t wait to kill some kids to show the world he’s tough.

One suspects that blame-artist-in-chief Obama has been told that a military strike with no military objectives or goals would have no good consequence, and might be jolting a metaphorical mideast hornets' nest (consider Krauthammer's "amateur hour" assessment, here)...

...so...

He is kicking it to congress to...

BLAME SHARE!

My guess, and welcome to it.

Congress should call his bluff if that’s his attitude. There’s only so much spin that can be put on all of these power grabs.

This whole thing is such a fiasco and an international embarrassment.

If I were a Congressperson and read this, I would vote no based on this alone.

If the Republicans go along with this, it will be the final nail in their coffin as a viable political party.

I don’t believe it.
But many people believe he takes orders.
Perhaps those in charge want him removed via impeachment
(this would be a clear way to do that)

so to install Biden.... to block Hillary (who we know they don’t like).

just a theory. not even mine, I can’t take credit for it.. read it somewhere here online, see what you think of it.

He would. Congress has totally abdicated all of its powers and duties to the executive branch

If he capitulates, he’ll be working against advice he’s received. As with most presidents, his experience is not that of a general.

It should be common knowledge for over a decade now. They didn’t want to go directly into Iran to begin with. They’ve been working at cutting off its support and isolating it first.

Yep. So go ahead and vote against it, Congress. Show Americans what kind of assclown wannabe dictator they allowed to occupy the oval office.

If he does it... it’ll work against him. Even with the media singing his praises, the public doesn’t want another intervention in that area. It’s akin to bombing an aspirin factory... nothing to gain except to throw his weight around with “his” military.. the same military he has such disdain for otherwise.
Of course, if it fails to gain him notoriety, he will blame the repubs. The spineless repubs. You’d think they’d learn after awhile. I think the repub establishment are so anti conservative, that they’d side with Obama over us any day. Just for spite. How dare we illiterate group of people think we know anything.

Our allies won’t back us. Our Congress probably won’t buy in. 90% of our populace thinks it’s a turd-in-the-punch-bowl idea. What then? Barack attacks anyway?

If he does, I’m telling folks right now, he may have pushed his luck too far.

The natives are restless, I don’t care what his imagined sons may have looked like.

How do you spell “IMPEACHMENT”?

“Say it loud and clear, Impeachment is here!”

I wonder if, now that obama has said he is gonna attack, Assad will launch a preemptive strike.

Not plausible unless Obama’s real strategy is to effectively disband Congress by showing even to low information voters that it is no longer needed to govern. It is more likely that the GOP will vote for war and Obama will get his bipartisan support and shared blame for the attack.

This appears to be a stalling tactic to give Assad more time to disperse his military assets, making it more unlikely that any puny attack by Obama will have an affect.

Why even waste dwindling defense funds on this worthless attempt to salvage Obama’s lousy global reputation?

Don’t doubt it, Obozo is already bought by the Saudi’s. He can only do what his masters tell him.

Is action without Congress unconstitutional? Yes. Except if we are attacked or threatened. Neither of which fits this.

What will Congress do? That is a good question. If congress finds grounds and brings impeachment against Obozo (or whatever his real name is) the Senate will not remove him. He knows that.

Checkmate.
