Translation: SO many congressional representatives, including large numbers from his own party are DEMANDING this that, politically, because of the upcoming mid terms, he had no choice.

Now, I hope Congress votes him down...but sadly, there will now be a full court press from this administration, RINOs in the House and Senate, and the MSM to beat the drums of war. Still I hope they vote him down as the British did to Cameron. That would be the best outcome here.

He wants to blame Congress and move on.....but he is vastly diminished on the World Stage.

What do you expect from someone would could not graduate from Occidental College, lied about graduating from Colombia, and was a Harvard Affirmative Action Saudi Arabia plant?

Count our Blessings. The psychopaths didn’t get to start WWIII today.

Truly. Give thanks to the Lord.

Obama failures are incalculable. They'll only be compounded by the denial and rescue of congress sure to come.

Winners...Syria, Russia, Iran, and China.

Fox is reporting that aids have told them that Obama will likely go anyway. Not sure I believe it. They need to vote no. Then pray like heck that we do not get some false flag chem attack here. If enough dems vote no, it will not happen. I hate not trusting our government anymore..but I don’t. Too many commies and Muslim Brotherhood folks running around in Obama’s gov.

I suspect something happened in the last 24 hours. Putin or someone told Obummer that Syria has more Yakhont anti ship missiles than we thought they have. Syria would never launch these unprovoked, but if they were used in self defense they could take out 1 or more of our ships and no one would blame them.

Now he will have congress vote to have our ships blown out of the water and a couple of thousand dead U.S. soldiers and down the road we lose the dollar as the standard for trading oil.

Please urge your congressman to vote no on Syrian intervention. Tell congress to vote on going into sub-saharan Africa where 3 million children die every year. If we are so worried about children dying, this is where we need to be, just change the argument.

Vote on 1 billion dollars per day fighting in Syria or 1 billion dollars a day saving 3 million children in Africa. I vote for the latter.

Yes thats a bit worrying. The most obvious reason for him doing that is that he thinks he will win the vote. After all, he stated quite clearly he believes he has the power to order an attack on Syria without congressional say so. So, he is going to come out of this not so bad. If congress say yes, then he can shift the blame for the coming debacle and all the negative political pain onto them. If they say no, he can look like a statesman like figure who bravely deferred to the American people to guide his actions (which is what he should be doing anyway, but never mind).

Will the attack take place? Fifty-fifty. Not that it matters anymore (except to some poor folk in Damascus who might cop a tomahawk missile).

I agree with you. Even if Assad did it, I am not in favor of striking Syria. But lack of clear culpability on the part of Assad may be a consideration for members of congress who are sitting on the fence with a finger in the wind.
Seems to me the rebels, who apparently were losing, had a far greater incentive to do it than the Syrian military.

If congress says “yea”, he’s doing it because congress insisted. If congress says “nay”, he’ll say “I wanted to do it but the chickenhawk republicans said I couldn’t do it.”

*SIGH*

I was mobilized (Army) for Operation Desert Storm; was married to a Navy SEAL at the time. When The President announced that we were going to war that day, the minute we got off duty and home (it would be a short evening; packed and ready to go within hours) we walked into each others arms and cried.

Imagine that. A big old Navy SEAL and a tough-as-nails (back in the day) Sergeant First Class crying because we knew the blood and treasure ODS would take from We The People. Has it stopped yet? We certainly don’t hear body counts on a daily basis now that that POS is our CIC! The loss of American life on a DAILY basis IS still happening; the evil Media won’t tell you that, though...

It was the FIRST in a lot of REALLY stupid mistakes our Government made when dealing with those goat fu&kers...and it ain’t over yet by a long shot.

9/11 followed. If History repeats itself, President Palin is going to have her hands FULL. (My wish for America!)

Hug your family, hunker down and prepare for the worst because life as you know it is going to change for the worse as we continue to go down this idiotic path.

Been there. Done that. Earned the pretty medals. Watched the next generation of military follow in my footsteps. I pray daily, as should you.

*SIGH*

RE :”perfect example of the Limbaugh theorem.
1. If Congress says no, he walks away from those who wanted it.
2. If Congress says yes, he no longer to blame for the consequences - it something goes wrong.”

Conservatives better take option 1.
Screw Obama , McCain and Grahamnesty. Obama doesn’t need congress for delaying parts of O-care, or amnesty, or federal drug offenses, so why this?

If Obama is rejected by congress on this after all his promises and ‘red lines in sand’ he will be shown as weak. His liberal base doesn’t even like this idea. He’s got McCain and Grahamnesty to help him on this. That is all he needs.

The military planneres ought to be fairly pizzed off right now...

If you go check, the “new moon is on the morning of the 5th...

Launching cruise missiles onto “chemical weapon storage or launching targets” is way too risky for collateral damage, something most planners try to factor into senarios like this...

Unless...

...you have a decision maker that doesn’t comprehend, much less care about that particular aspect of a military operation, however surgical, precise or “limited” you want to make it...

Amature hour is on TV right now, and diplomatically as of today, the current administration has proven itself to not be as clever as it thought it could be in suckering other countries into this debacle...Much less Congress...

But hey, the stupid people of this country don’t understand all this anyway, they’ll be told something by the usual suspects, and once again the blame and scorn will be levied on the republicans...

Whats funny is people who used to be dire republican supporters are growing tired of seeing absolute catatonic push-back from the nonsense thrown at them (republicans) over the last few years...Who would want to be a part (or continue to be) of that crap???

And the republican leadership wonders why it keeps losing elections across the country...

I believe it’ll turn around, but it is absolutely assinine the lack of passion, drive, fight, both politically and socially these knuckleheads keep demonstrating to the country and the world for that matter...

But hey, what do I know...I’ve been told that I just don’t know how things work in Austin and D.C.

Seems to me it ain’t working now...
