Why is Crushing the Muslim Brotherhood a Bad Thing?
Townhall.com ^ | August 26, 2013 | Kurt Schlichter

Here’s a wacky, outside-the-envelope idea that we just might want to give a shot – let’s try defeating our enemies. It’s bound to work out better than protecting and empowering them.

The Egyptian Army is taking tough stand against the Muslim Brotherhood. It is backed up by an Egyptian people who rapidly tired of the Islamofascist freak show a minority of them elected. The Army, while losing many of their own, killed a lot of the insurgent Brothers. For some reason we’re supposed to be upset.

I just can’t work up a lot of caring because a pack of murderous subversives whose declared goal is returning the globe to a permanent state of Seventh Century Bedouin theocracy tried to fight it out with a tough, well-armed and patriotic Egyptian military and got their teeth kicked in.

Let me stake out what, inexplicably, seems to be a minority position here in the United States: I want to see the Muslim Brotherhood decisively and permanently defeated. I don’t care if they surrender or die, as long as they lose.

Maybe I’m just not as attuned to the nuance and subtlety of the situation as our political elite. Maybe I don’t care deeply about freedom like they do, with my two deployments actually defending freedom hardly comparable to their above and beyond the call of duty posturing on talk shows.

Maybe I’m just too simplistic. After all, in my years in the infantry I was taught that you find the enemy, fix him in place and destroy him. As a lawyer, no client ever came to me and asked me to ensure the creep who launched the frivolous lawsuit against him walked out of court happy. I never got into a fight on the playground that ended with a hug.

As unpopular as it is in the rarified circles of our squeamish elitists, defeating our enemies still seems like a pretty good plan. But then I’m not burdened with the doubts so many elitists share about the essential legitimacy of pursuing America’s national interests.

At some level, many of these people feel that we Americans – we Westerners in general – deserve to lose. I don’t share those doubts. Our enemy is evil, plain and simple, and it needs to be beaten.

The Muslim Brotherhood plus the jihadi sociopaths associated with it are most certainly our enemy. How do we know? Because they tell us so.

As Townhall’s Hugh Hewitt consistently observes, if you want to know what the Muslim Brotherhood is all about you must read Lawrence Wright’s The Looming Tower. The tower is, of course, a reference to 9/11. Al Qaeda, the butcher of thousands of Americans here and abroad, is a direct off-shoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. The difference between these two sets of creeps is their strategy, not their goal.

Their goal is neither hidden nor hard to understand, unless you consciously choose to overlook or misunderstand it. They seek to rule the world under a theocracy that enshrines their own twisted version of Islam. They consider us pigs and apes who may be butchered at will, and who will be butchered when they gain enough power to do so after our spirit is so broken that we, like the ancient Romans, can no longer find the heart to defend ourselves against the barbarian onslaught.

Jews? They want them dead. Gays? Dead. Christians? Well, just ask a local Copt. You’ll be able to find one soon enough – they are all trying to immigrate to America to escape the jihadi pogroms.

Women? Well, they don’t want you dead. That’s the good news. The bad news is that after they mutilate your genitals you get to live in something like slavery at the mercy of your wild-eyed salafist husband. Lucky you.

Again, call me crazy, but I really, really want the people who favor these things crushed. Frankly, I am wondering why we, as a country, aren’t flying C-17s brimming with ammunition and weapons over to our friends – by which I mean anyone actively in combat against our enemies.

This isn’t a game. This isn’t a joke. We saw what happened in 1979 when the feckless Jimmy Carter decided his own smug sense of morality trumped common sense realism and allowed the mullahs to take over Iran. Weakness and indecisiveness didn’t win us any friends. They never will. The mullahs hate us. They, unlike us, are serious. They want us defeated. And for 34 years they have done things consistent with defeating us, right up to and including building nuclear weapons while we do nothing.

The Muslim Brotherhood fanatics are the same even if their theology is superficially different. They want to win. They are doing the things they need to do to win. Yet we refuse to fight back while we undercut those who will.

The destruction of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and everywhere should be the centerpiece of American Mideast strategy, not hassling the Israelis to compromise with terrorists. Indeed, it is hard to imagine how we would act differently if our goal was to help the Muslim Brotherhood.

Finally, some common sense so lacking in our debates. Plain and simple, eliminate this threat or it will eliminate you...great article!

Q.Why is Crushing the Muslim Brotherhood a Bad Thing?

A. Because it would empty out the White House.

The problem is that the muslim brotherhood isn’t going to be crushed. They’re spread all across the mideast in huge numbers. Even if you did crush the brotherhood you’ll end up with another group just as bad or worse. Just the other day Israel announced new peace talks with Hamas in Gaza who are nothing but muslim brotherhood.

We’ve spent better than a decade “crushing” Al Qeada who are a tiny faction in comparison to the MB and we haven’t made a dent. We could spend centuries trying to destroy the brotherhood.

Ok, so it is going to be difficult to defeat MB, Al Queada, et al. Does that mean we just throw up our hands and surrender because it is hard? This son of a WWII marine thinks not. We didn’t give up after Pearl Harbor, and we can’t give up now. These spawn of the devil islamist should be destroyed at every opportunity.

Yeah lets throw a few more trillion dollars at it. While we’re at it I’m sure we can afford to waste a few hundred thousand lives.

We aren’t going to power the nation with windmills but that’s nor excuse for not trying.

“...that enshrines their own twisted version of Islam...”

I disagree. The MB enforces the PUREST Islam, the original as Mohammed intended it. Killing or enslaving “infidels”, conquest & pillage, that’s all in the Koran.

“There is no moderate or radical Islam. There is only Islam”. - Erdogan, the Islamist Turkish premier.

The MB is Islam without any adornments.

Best to remember that many, many American Blacks (Obama's base) are Muslims---b/c Muslims proselytize in US jails and make many converts.

A key Muslim goal is the destruction of Western Civilization.

At the Hay Literary festival in Wales, author and PBS historian, Niall Ferguson, spent much of his time dissing Obama's speech delivered in Cairo in 2009......describing it as "touchy feely nonsense"...Ferguson has sent out warnings about Obama's failure to come to terms with what Ferguson sees as the potential rise of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt and the possible "restoration of the caliphate and the strict application of Sharia"........themes at the heart of this new book "Civilization: The West and the Rest"...............

Ferguson's standpoint is that Western dominance has been a progressive civilizing force.....his new book reinforces these arguments postulating that there were six killer "apps" which propelled the West to a position of predominance.

These were competition, science, property, modern science, consumption and work ethic, each with a dedicated chapter in the book.

Ferguson contrasts how China was the world's most advanced civilization in the 15th century but stagnated and was overtaken by Dutch mercantilism and the rise of capitalism employing the six "skills".

In his books, and on his compelling PBS series "Civilizaion," Ferguson lists "morality" as a strategic strength of Western Civilization. He points out the successful Chinese business city Wenzou also has 1,400 churches.

==============================================

NOTE Not coincidentally, it was China that joined Russia in decrying The Muslim Brotherhood's attack on Egyptian Christian's churches, homes and businesses.

So. How Close Is the US to the Muslim Brotherhood?

T-H-I-S close.

Arif Alikhan, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for policy development;

Mohammed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council;

Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference;

Salam al-Marayati, co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC);

Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA);

Eboo Patel, a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

==============================================

Everyday this berserk jerk has his filthy hands on the levers of OUR govt, is another attack against Western Civilization. Islam is all about hatred and “triumphalism.” Only God knows what Obomba and his fanatical appointees are plotting against Christian America behind closed doors.

Staged photo on MV to pump up Susan Rice's meager resume.

"Obama, before we go power-party, I think you should call Gen al-Sisi."

=========================================

Egyptian Gen. Al-Sissi did NOT accept Obama’s phone call......shows that the military strongman is determined to keep this Muslim US admin from interfering in his plans to drive the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics.

After last Wednesday's bloodbath, when Muslims gathered to mourn their dead at the mosque, Gen Al-Sissi drove out the mourners, and confiscated the Muslim bodies. The Egyptian military also vowed to rebuild the 63 Egyptian churches torched by the savage Muslim Brotherhood as they rampaged against Christian homes and businesses.

=========================================

Obama has created a bizarro US foreign policy---dedicated to elevating the Muslim Brotherhood using US tax dollars...with a quirky sideshow----a gay drumbeat and act after act of self-made Black Victims whining....and collecting... about assorted grievances.

As usual, Obobo is on the wrong side-----the rebels against Assad are the same jihadist bunch killing Christians in Egypt.

The Syrian Islamics want Assad out b/c he accepts Christians (and presumably does not endorse Islamic slaughter of Christians).

Coincidentally (snix), Russia and China (who would veto any UN move against Assad) have rallied behind Gen al-Sisi and denounced the Muslim slaughter of Christans in Egypt.

================================================

AS FREEPER PENELOPESIRE INSIGHTFULLY POSTED: Wait until the Saudis and Egyptians get through waterboarding the truth out of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders they have in custody! All of Obama’s little secrets on Benghazi and arming Islamists and Al Quaeda throughout the Middle East are going to come falling out of the bag.

CAN YOU SAY IMPEACH The SOB?

I’m not convinced the Egyptian military isn’t allowing the slaughter of Christians to support their case. In a matter of days they went from being able to protect them as they’ve done for decades to being utterly helpless.

Sometimes I think the only lasting solution to the Egyptian problem is to nuke the Aswan High Dam.

Personally I’d encourage Israel to retake the Sinai and we could park a carrier group at either end of the Suez canal and warn anyone wanting to attack or interfere with Israel that it will cost them dearly.

Let Ethiopia build their dam and they might be willing to take a lot of the Egyptian Christians and Jews.

When Muslims are killing Muslims, it distracts them from trying to kill US!

The MB enforces the PUREST Islam, the original as Mohammed intended it.

Sounds like you have bothered to actually read the book. So have I.

Without even getting into child rape and other nuances of their holy book, Mad Mo had 600 Jewish captives beheaded after promising them clemency if they surrendered. Ask a Muslim to explain that and you will get pretzel logic so twisted that it makes the absolute craziest Christian fundamentalist look rational by comparison.

Why is it a bad thing?

Because it would cause sorrow and heartache among King Zero, his court jesters, and our "news" media.

IIRC, Ethiopia is ignoring threats from Egypt and is building their dam. Maybe when it is operational Ethiopia will become a refuge for persecuted Christians in the region. Christian immigres will certainly offset the growing muzzie problem there.
