Obama felt that the thuggish Trayvon Martin's death was a national tragedy worthy of his sympathy and attention. Somehow, I doubt that he'll find the same sympathy for Mr. Belton.

Police: Arrest Made In Beating Death Of 88-Year-Old WWII Vet

Authorities say the two young African American men, between 16 and 19 years old, approached Delbert Belton in his car Wednesday night outside an Eagles Lodge as he was waiting for a friend.

Belton was found by police with serious head injuries and died in the hospital Thursday.

Belton’s daughter-in-law tells KREM-TV that the suspects beat him with flashlights.

"They used those great big heavy flashlights,” Bobbie Belton said. “The doctors said he was bleeding from all parts of his face.”"..............

“...UPDATE 1:30 p.m. The second suspect in Belton’s death has been identified as Kenan Kinard, and is currently not in custody. local NBC station KHQ reports that Kinard is possibly driving a stolen vehicle.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m. Spokane ABC-affiliate KXLY reports that 16-year-old Demetrius Glenn has been charged with the murder of Belton. The station also says Glenn will be charged as an adult.”
