I’ve only read one account of a wheels-up landing with an occupied ball-turret, and the gunner was distributed along a thousand feet of pavement.
I recall that story as well, but I believe the gunner died. Hope I’m wrong about that, but I think that was the outcome.

On the whole I’m generally against the death penalty but in this case I just might be willing to make an exception.

I want this kid punished badly but I just don't see putting our vets in the position of having to make this choice.
