PRUDEN: Up to our ears in snake oil
The Washington Times ^ | 23 August 2013 | Wes Pruden

Posted on 08/23/2013 6:26:45 AM PDT by COBOL2Java

Al Gore and his traveling medicine show is back in town with his new, improved snake oil, guaranteed to grow hair, improve digestion, promote regularity and kill roaches, rats and bedbugs. Al and his wagon rumbled into town on the eve of “a major forthcoming report” from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is a panel of scientists affiliated with the United Nations. Their report is expected to buck up the spirits of the tycoons of the snake-oil industry.

A snake-oil salesman’s lot, like a policeman’s, is not a happy one. There’s always a skeptic or two (or three) standing at the back of the wagon, eager to scoff and jeer. The global-warming scam would have been right up Gilbert and Sullivan’s street. Would Al and the U.N. deceive us? No! Never! What! Never? Weeeell, hardly ever.

The New York Times, a faithful shill for Al’s snake-oil elixir, following the wagon from town to town, got an advance copy of the U.N. report and gives out with the “good” news: It’s a “near certainty” that humans are responsible for the rising temperatures of recent decades, and warns that by the end of the century all the little people — small children, midgets and others whose growth was stunted by drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes at an early age — will be up to their belly buttons in salt water. The seas will rise by more than three feet.

The inconvenient truth Al and the junk scientists have to deal with is that temperatures aren’t rising, but falling.

Looks like algore is in for another round of attacks by us evil deniers. Course we should only pay enough attention to irritate him otherwise he’ll figure a way to make even more money off this farce. Man are there a lot of didiots out there. Uh, algore, did you happen to notice the record LOW AMOUNT of tornadoes this year? Atlanta low temps? Icing starting early in the arctic? Oops. Just the result of climate change. Hey, a half hour ago it was about 53 degrees and no it’s 55. Must be climate change.

Too good to miss.....President Obama tried the other day to elbow Al aside to lead with his assertion that hurricanes are getting worse and that only he has the power to put them in their place.

more....We were scheduled to see an enormous melting of polar ice by now, but even the ice won’t co-operate. The U.S. Navy forecasts twice as much mid-September ice this year as it measured in 2012.

Laughter is good for you.......

Not a panel of scientists, it is an Intergovernmental Panel, i.e., a bunch of politically appointed bureaucrats.

May I question, if Al Gore is so concerned with our safety, why isn’t he wanting people to move to higher ground. Maybe the answer is that he really isn’t sure the ocean will rise, especially since he bought a beach front home.

I thought Tipper got the beach house. Folks should do as they have for thousands of years. Adapt to the (possibly) changing conditions. Should we not allow anyone else to move to low lying areas? Maybe a new rule that no new construction will be allowed below 40 feet of elevation from where the current ocean levels are? While working in the yard the other day an older gentleman was walking by and we struck up a conversation. (He was visiting from Romania) We told him that we had moved from Florida and he advised us that we had done a smart thing since in 20 years, Florida would be under water. Since my Romanian isn’t that good and his English wasn’t that good I didn’t try to explain the reality of it too him. Just an example of the lie being spread and accepted.

I knew this man had no shame or honor back in 2000. But this global-warming-climate-change booshwa he pushes, mainly to line his already bulging pockets, while living like an Ottoman pasha, is a new low in hypocrasy and mendacity.

And to think he wanted to be President.

When I was in Mongolia several years they were having a drought and it was caused by global warming. The reality is when does Mongolia NOT have a drought?

Al looks ready to pop a blood vessel. Does anyone still take this self serving jack ass seriously. When you look up the word “phony” you will see Als’ picture, he is the poster boy for every phony who ever walked the face of this earth.

And, how could I forget algore's other nickname?!

Masseuse calls algore "A Crazed Sex Poodle!

"Well now really ... what is the controlling legal authority over the definitions of "crazed", "sex" and "poodle" for that matter?"
