If the French really believe that they need to become entangled in the Syrian civil war and sacrifice their young people, then that will be the decision of a sovereign, democratically elected government. However it is a good hunch that you will never see a French boot on the ground unless Obama makes a monumental error and commits American troops. If he does end up committing Americans, it will be another solitary executive action because it is highly doubtful that Congress will pass an authorization.
