There is a young couple living behind me. They haven’t made a house payment in 9 months and are waiting out the bank to see how long it will take for them to make them move out.
She told me last November they thought their child would be able to stay in the school here until Jun, Now they have signed the kid up for another school year, maybe they will get by till Christmas.
Sounds like a good gamble. Last thing any bank wants is more abandoned real estate on their books. Expensive hassle to manage and you take a PR hit every time.
So according to this seafront property *should* be selling at a discount to other, non-seafront property. I mean it still has a present value but according to this its future value should go to zero.
Yet - somehow - I doubt that that’s the case. I wonder why?

I'm afraid you have that one exactly backwards. They want to gin up hysteria because they want the taxes, not the other way around. But otherwise perfect observations....
