Overnight, it wasn't Egypt but Syria that woke up to the latest massacre, this time in a chemical weapons-induced slaughter when more than 200 people were killed shortly after 3 am local time, in what would be by far the worst reported use of chemical arms in the two-year-old civil war. Naturally, Syrian activists promptly accused the President al-Assad of conducting the attack that killed numerous women and children even though it was their chemicial weapons warehouse in the Damascus area that was uncovered just over a month ago.
Not surprisingly the state TV and Syrian emissaries abroad promptly denied any responsibility for the attack. And, as on previous occasions, the traditional narrative of penning this wholesale murder of civilians on the ruling administration leaves much to be desired. So much so that even experts are now wondering if it wasn't merely the latest provocation attempt by the US (and Al-Qaeda) -supported rebels to push public opinion further against Assad and permit the greenlighting of an eventual military escalation.

I'm no chemical weapons expert but these "bodies" look awfully pink and fully flushed for people who should be looking rather cyanotic after being deprived of the ability to get oxygen to their lungs.
What I see in the pictures are a bunch of dead jihadists that we won't have to hunt down after the muzzie in the white hut allows them to slaughter Americans.
What is it that syria and egypt have in common? Both are showing the world that they are subhuman savages who don’t deserve the name ‘civilized.’
Looks like another of those pesky RED LINES have been crossed. What to do? What to do?
And worse, we suspect it is our side doing the killing.
Well, since I’m the Commander in Chief I’m going to issue some orders:
1. CIA: Find out who did this but don’t tell anyone but me.
2. NYT: Report that Assad has done it again.
3. WP: Report that Assad has done it again.
4. LAT: Report that Assad has done it again.
5. ...
Take away is things are about to get even hotter in that part of the world and many more are going to die.
If it does turn out to be a false flag operation, the US must immediately and permanently cease any and all funding/assistance to the “rebels”.
5. Set up a 3pm tee time. This time get a golf cart with a canopy.
People who are gassed are usually very contorted and unusually colored.
Exactly. And for so many in one room to NOT exhibit the usual symptoms...is highly suspect. Plus, given the Muslim propensity to lie and manufacture these false disaster scenes makes me want to side with the Syrian Gov't on this one.
Exactly what I thought.
These allegations of chemical warfare by the Syrian army need to be investigated by a truly impartial body. Until this happens, patriotic Americans should treat them as more propaganda by the pro-Islamic forces that American governments of both parties always find a way to support.
Agree, but things are moving too fast now for any kind of impartial investigation to be completed. I’m looking for the complete destruction of Damascus soon.
The “impartial experts” don’t have any evidence to claim false flag. Merely saying that “it wouldn’t make sense for Assad to do this now, would it?” It would make sense if he is an in-your-face dictator which I in fact suspect is the case.
Oh, well if debkafile reports it, then it must be true /s
It is very difficult to tell what happened in this attack. I understand sarin is the predominant nerve gas possessed in Syria. Sarin can kill very quickly in high doses with little apparent damage to a body, but it also can cause permanent nerve damage and loss of motor function in non-lethal doses as it quickly dissipates. I would expect to see some survivors with damage in a typical sarin attack.
I won’t make any conclusions because there is not enough data other than Syria is a mess and we should stay out of it. The opposition appears worse than the regime - eerily familiar to other Obama Arab Spring choices.
Great catch, BSR. People gassed struggle for air exactly as one strangled by a garrotte. Unrestrained, they struggle, contort and strive for air, then expire in whatever position defines their end. They are NOT pink and healthy looking, with peaceful expressions on their faces.
One again, it is possible that propaganda is as effective a weapon of war as a loaded gun.
