Ron Paul on Fox: Christie Will ‘Say Anything, Do Anything, Deceive the People’ to Get Elected
Mediate ^ | Tuesday August 20, 2013

At first Paul would only say that Christie was “very precise” in his assertion that you have to win before you can govern. But then the gloves came off. “In other words, say anything, do anything, get elected first, and deceive the people in order to get elected,” Paul said. He accused both parties of saying “whatever they think they have to say” to get elected, but predicted those days are “coming to an end.”

“The American people are waking up to the reality that something has to give,” Paul continued, “and it certainly isn’t by saying, ‘Well, say anything you can. Let’s get elected and then we as Republicans will clean the mess up.’”

Cavuto attempted to translate Paul’s comments for the audience, summing them up like this: “You seem to be saying that you would rather lose an election with a Chris Christie on the ticket than win on those compromised principles.”

The lore of the Christmas Fruit Cake is in that everyone would give them but they were an aquired taste. Now take Rand Paul... what is common and ordianry about this guy? Not much. He stands out in the crowd.

Second point... human civilization has shown time and time again it’s appetite for freedom... there is no “aquired taste” for liberty... it need not me gussied up with candied fruit bits and rum.

Rand Paul is offering up an uncommon product that is in high demand.

Like a Christmas Fruitcake? Not really.

Thank you. Well said. The Paul’s have had quite enough of charade government and are willing to go to the mattresses to express what liberty used to look like. We have become top heavy with intrusive government in every single institution and every single department.

Methinks they are both ready for battle, willing
to trim the sails of all sides of both parties.

It’s time.

I love fruit cake from Corsicana, Texas. I simply eat around the green stuff.

This is Ron Paul, not Rand.

Who but you is talking about Rand Paul? The story was about, and the person I commented about was Ron Paul. And MY opinion of Ron Paul is that he is a FRUITCAKE. Now we don’t have to agree, we ARE in America ya know, but if you are gonna gripe at me at least stick to person I commented on.

I don’t think Ron Paul has ever “said what he had to say to get elected”.

If anything he would of benifited from at least keping his mouth shut about some of his ideas.

I don’t agree with a lot of what he said, but I believe that what he says he means. I’m also a fan of his stand on fiscal policy.

The people in his district must of liked what he had to say because they kept electing him. Of course just up the road from his old district people keep re-electing Sheila Jackson Lee.
