My current position regarding Ted Cruz, as one of his represented citizens as well as a constitutional conservative:
Senator Cruz should be upright and declare that he ^^is not eligible to run for president^^ according to the proper understanding of “natural born citizen”.
This would, simultaneously, declare that his conservative chops mitigate his ego as well as throwing the NBC argument back on the POTUS. Accordingly, he should support -in the same breath- a viable conservative candidate.
If he declares for the presidency and then rests on the unproven precedence of Obamugabe’s election, he will not be supported ^for any office^ by the majority of voters in West Texas and should not be considered viable by conservatives across America.
You got the problem, not Ted Cruz.
If he declared himself ineligible to run for PResident, he would be LYING. You need to inform yourself of the facts, wake up, step up and STOP.
He has already declared himself eligible and has explained why. HIS declared belief of “natural born” is that he was an American at birth via his American mother. His declared belief has already been stated that natural born is the opposite of naturalized.
If he did what you demand, he would be LYING against his own stated beliefs.
That is why your demand of him is ridiculous.
It’s a shame you just refuse to “get it”.
It would be like demanding that someone declare that their name isn’t really xxxxx xxxxx, when that has always been their name.
Absurd.
Sorry, no one cares about your imaginary definition of natural born citizen.
“Senator Cruz should be upright and declare that he ^^is not eligible to run for president^^ according to the proper understanding of natural born citizen.”
Whatever you and I might think, the law, as it stands today is that “being born a citizen” (which Cruz was) means he is a natural born citizen.
I’m a West Texas voter and I would support him.
You can speak for the majority of voters in West Texas? Why would I suspect you have delusions of grandeur?
I respect your right to your opinion, even if you are wrong.
If he runs, I will vote for him.
Name one.
“If he declares for the presidency and then rests on the unproven precedence of Obamugabes election, he will not be supported ^for any office^ by the majority of voters in West Texas and should not be considered viable by conservatives across America.”
Bull.
Boy, it’s gonna be fun watching the Cruz concern trolls ride the ZOT train.

Right on. It bears repeating, so I pretty much quoted your original post in full.
Elsewhere, Cruz is reported as saying he won’t be drawn into a legal debate about whether he’s a Canadian citizen: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3056636/posts. This is wise, because he most certainly is, whether he has ever applied for the passport or not. I hope he gets out of this sideshow soon though. He seemed to have the makings of a great senator.
God Bless West Texas. Ever tried the Jeff Davis County wines?
