As school begins in the coming weeks, parents of boys should ask themselves a question: Is my son really welcome? A flurry of incidents last spring suggests that the answer is no. In May, Christopher Marshall, age 7, was suspended from his Virginia school for picking up a pencil and using it to “shoot” a “bad guy” — his friend, who was also suspended. A few months earlier, Josh Welch, also 7, was sent home from his Maryland school for nibbling off the corners of a strawberry Pop-Tart to shape it into a gun. At about the same time, Colorado’s Alex Evans, age 7, was suspended for throwing an imaginary hand grenade at “bad guys” in order to “save the world.”
In all these cases, school officials found the children to be in violation of the school’s zero-tolerance policies for firearms, which is clearly a ludicrous application of the rule. But common sense isn’t the only thing at stake here. In the name of zero tolerance, our schools are becoming hostile environments for young boys.

It sounds rather like being a cook at that place that used to be popular, but now everyone’s just waiting for it to close so they can put a dollar store in the location!
It is about destroying the warrior culture in America. Making wimps of the American male so there is no one left to fight for freedom and our way of life.

It is the organized neutering of the male of the species. Look at the results...like the current resident of the White House.
They can gussy it up by naming it "Metrosexual", but it is just the neutering of the males.
The problem is that we real men won't play their game. They can go play "dress-up" with their metrosexual dollies.
Well, here’s the challenge, to play the games robustly and yet to do so without malice to mankind. One needs a godly worldview to do this. And modern conservatives more and more relegate God to a ceremonial status if allowing any room for Him at all. So the false dilemma arises, shall we play the games robustly (godless conservative) not caring about the malice to mankind, or shall we avoid malice to mankind (godless liberal) not caring about the robustness of the play. The two can’t be brought together any more because there’s no effectual God in the picture.
My friend went to Bishop Dubois HS in Manhattan after World War II. He was on the rifle team. After school they would go to the Knightsbridge Armory in the Bronx by subway carrying their rifles at sling arms. If something like that happened today, the entire subway system would be shut down, from the #1 IRT to Van Courtlandt Park station in the Bronx to the Beach 21st station in Far Rockway, SWAT teams would be called out, northern Manhattan would be swarming with more tanks than Fort Knox.

My 10 year old grandson was called on the carpet, at school ,because he told another student that his lunch looked “yucky”. This other student has recently arrived from Saudi Arabia and is having a tough time fitting in because he’s a brat. When things don’t go his way he accuses the other kids of picking on him because of his nationality. Not true. The principal came close to calling it a hate crime. Well, my daughter went ballistic and pretty much told the principal that she was an idiot. She said I eat yogurt and he thinks that’s yucky so is that a hate crime against me? In the end, the principal did back down and just asked that all the boys get along. My daughter won’t allow my grandson anywhere near this kid because she said he’s learned to use his nationality as a weapon.
Rifle teams in NYC.. Many High schools had rifle teams and traveled, on public transportation, to “meets” with other schools. It all ended after the assassination of JFK. That was also the beginning of the “feminization” of America

I was fortunate enough to go to school in the 50's. Great teachers and subjects.

It was a bit different then, wasn't it? (L-rd's Prayer, the Pledge, and so forth...teachers that loved G-d and country.)
The public school now are worthless. The teachers are hamstrung by PC and fear of law suits. On top of that, too many teachers are functionally illiterate.
It was many years ago, wasn't it? Good teachers and good subject matter...My kids (twin daughters) were not so fortunate, but I read everything they studied, and corrected where needed. Tried PTA meetings, and they were less than (ahem) forthcoming. A waste of time.
My daughters are doing well in their 30's.
