“Thank you for being here, and thank you for coming forward and speaking…the answer still kinda remains the same: we have laws and we need to follow those laws, and that’s where we’re at.”

So basically the headline was for sensationalism.

No bias here...

The anti-immigration advocates in the crowd reportedly applauded and cheered in response as Josie took her seat, head down.

deportation should include entire family - anchor kids included. The kids shouldn’t be able to claim citizenship until 18 years of age.

“I have a dad who’s undocumented. What can I do so he can stay with me?”

The guy blew it, and came off as totally dogmatic nd insensitive. The right answer might have been...

"We all know how important it is for all of us to remain together as a family. That is commendable.
"However, since we have laws, and without them we are all much poorer, the alternative to keep a loving family together is to go with him. That is easily arranged. Thank you for asking."

“I have a dad who’s undocumented. What can I do so he can stay with me?”

Uhhhh. . . Go home with him?

Or wait till he's sorted his legal thing out, like kids from Italy 70 years ago— whose fathers came to America from Italy (legally) to work for several years, sent money home, and then rejoined their families back in Italy? And maybe immigrated together later? There are all kinds of possibilities.

Or is your family too special for that? You demand better service than what Americans got?

I’ve noticed recently that the MSM networks (CNN and MSNBC in particular) have hired an inordinate number of immigrants for their shows. Some can hardly speak understandable English and none of them have read the Constitution or understand American concepts of law.

I have to say I ‘feel’ for Josie. But she needs to assign the hurt and pain she is experiencing to her father who broke laws and to the organizations such as La Raza that encouraged the lawbreaking. Josie can accompany her father back to his home country and if she likes she can apply for a green card to the USA.

And MSLSD should present the story just as I described it above /pigs flying

Tell her that Mexico is a wonderful country and most of the mexican derived Americans think so much of it that they prefer to identify themselves as Mexican rather than Americans. She should feel fortunate return to the land of her father’s birth and escape from the oppressive and intolerant yanqui.

“the anti-immigration advocates”

You know the gerbalist wanted to write “flecks of foam spewed from their mouths as they screamed for the living blood of this eleven year old naif ...”
This might as well have been written by La Raza, the Mexican government and, yeah—the White House.

“Tell her that Mexico is a wonderful country and most of the mexican derived Americans think so much of it that they prefer to identify themselves as Mexican rather than Americans.”

Do you have some hard data to back that stupid statement up?
Too many Freepers make ignorant assumptions like yours. Go check out the rolls of Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, and Silver Star recipients. On those lists you will find many Americans with Spanish surnames. Good men like 1st Lt. Baldomero Lopez USMC Medal of Honor, PFC Harold Gonsalves USMC Medal of Honor, SSgt Ambrosio Guillen USMC Medal of Honor, LCpl Jose Francisco Jimenez USMC Medal of Honor, Capt Jay R Vargas USMC Medal of Honor, Sgt Rafael Peralta USMC Navy Cross.
Those are just the Marines. Here is the list of all Medal of Honor recipients with a heritage you claim are disloyal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hispanic_Medal_of_Honor_recipients

My sons and I proudly carry the surname Castillo. I retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years of active duty and 2 combat tours, Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Somalia. My oldest son did 6 years in the army with two deployments to Iraq. He came home with a brain injury and a Purple Heart after his last deployment. My 3rd son is a Marine Corps Combat Engineer with two tours in Afghanistan. Do some friggin research before you spout off about stuff you know nothing about.

How about “We’ll do the same thing the Mexican government would do for an illegal alien family in similar circumstances.”

Unfortunately, the quality of people who would sneak into our country is such that they don't have the slightest clue about their own country's laws.

That answer would baffle the recipient the same way any Constitutional provision or prohibition would baffle the Obama/Holder peeps in discussing lawful political behavior : a blank distant stare...

Speaking of stupid statements, your over-the-top outrage identifies you as a drama queen, quick to be offended and assuming you know more than everyone else.

There are tens of millions of normal Americans who identify themselves as Americans, with Spanish surnames, whose families came here generations ago, totally legally and complying with all laws. They understand the US Constitution and the rule of law as well or better than the average American.

I am among them; the real outrage is that you are lumping us together with culturally criminally-bent illiterates who will rob everyone blind, in Mexico or anywhere else.

I resent you lumping us all together with those losers.
And you may feel free to join the illegals, their ignorance, their arrogance and their dedication to scamming their host country.

It is interesting that when the media make all the fuss about breaking up families, they never point out that the illegals left a family in Mexico or some other country to come here. Apparently it is ok to break up a family in order to come to the US, but not in order to leave the US.

I agree with your statements. The people who come here legally are mostly(99.9%)proud to be American.

I worked with a guy for years, a Mexican who wanted to be a citizen in the worse way, but he kept failing the test for some reason(maybe nerves), he finally passed the citizenship test and you never saw a happier man. He hated Mexico and hated the periodic trips he had to take back there, trips that stopped once he became an American, and don't anyone dare call him a Mexican-American on pain of getting the faces punched in.

The guy raised 3 kids here, all of them American to the core. He is against Amnesty or was the last time I talked to him.

“Do you have some hard data to back that stupid statement up?”

Nope. No hard data but it is not uncommon to read stories about schools in the border states where the kids run around waving Mexican flags and they even fly mexican flags over schools and businesses. Not to mention stories where they cant say the pledge or sing the national anthem for fear of “offending” the Mexs. Remember the pro amnesty rallys where there were virtually all the flags were Mexican? It looked so bad that the rally organizers had to remind the protesters to fly some American flags so they could give the impression they actually liked America.

Obviously my comments were not meant to be applied to ALL Mexican decendents and since I didnt say ALL there is no reason for you to get so butt hurt about it. I don’t fly off the handle whenever someone talks about Italians being in the mob. You and your kids are patriots, great, but that doesnt mean everyone is.

A few words added to the phrase that makes it so, like (born of parents who)"are legal residents of the United States" would correct that oversight.

I think you're the one that didn't read his comments. He said "most" people of Mexican descent, whereas you falsely CLAIMED he was making a statement about "every single American" of Mexican decent.

"Most" and "All" are clearly different things. It's common knowledge that MOST Jewish Americans blindly vote for Marxist liberal Democrats, but that doesn't mean we're claiming "every single one" of them does.
