Might explain the mass insanity prevalent among Islamic populations in the mid-east.

The problem is actually worse among Muslim immigrants to the UK. The percentage of cousin marriage in higher in UK cities than it is in Pakistan - because marrying your cousin gives your family member the ability to immigrate. And they dramatically prefer marriage to someone from the home country over a local, arranging marriages for UK born sons to girls from the home country to prevent assimilation. The UK is also having problems with UK born girls sent to Pakistan to marry against their will over summer vacation.
The Pakistani minority is 3% of the British population and has 30% of the birth defects the NHS pays for. The solution is ending cousin marriage, but they see it as cultural survival and family obligation. Even marrying other Pakistanis from other regions or other Muslims would end the problem, but incest is best in their opinion.

‘Obviously, we don’t want any children to be born disabled who don’t need to be born disabled, so I would advise genetic screening before first cousins marry.

Couldn't he have stopped after the first "disabled"?

A friend worked with a young man who was in a small strict Mennonite clan and he told of many "basement kids" born with defects who spent their lives in the house.

“Prof Jones’s comments provoked anger among some Muslim groups yesterday.”

Angry Muslims? That’s a shock.

born gay = birth defect

From article: "Islam allows you to marry anyone you want, so in many ways Islam promotes diversity."

I pass a mosque each day returning from work and most days it is all males!

Must be gay day, or queer weddings?

No wonder we never see Queer Nation protesting the islamiacs.

I’ve got a triple third cousin. We don’t resemble. No first cousin marriages in my direct lines that I’ve been able to find, but there were more than a few in the extended family, particularly during times of war, the Revolution and the Civil War. That struck me as odd, because there would have been fewer males, which would have broadened the pool of marriagable females, so something else was at work, imho. Circling the wagons, staying close to home? Deprivation of war limiting travel? Keeping an estate in the family after loss of so many male descendants? Don’t really know.

The English, who have allowed Muslims to settle in England and thus bringing both financial and cultural disaster to England, are the truly stupid population in this issue.

and once again we are no better....

The Muslim population of the U.S. increased dramatically in the 20th century, with much of the growth driven by rising immigration, and a comparatively high birth rate. About 72% of American Muslims are immigrants or "second generation".[9][10] In 2005, more people from Islamic countries became legal permanent United States residents — nearly 96,000 — than in any year in the previous two decades.[11][12] In 2009, more than 115,000 Muslims became legal residents of the United States

Once noticed on a family tree t-shirt with three and three! I ask and he said it was a triple wedding!
My father and mother met at my uncle and aunt’s wedding.
Not certain it’s correct, but we refer to each other as ‘double cousins’.
The guy with the t-shirt called it triple cousins and knew of a four plus four wedding!
All of them were recent WWII returnees, my parents included.

Actually it is legal in USA now in some states for
2 brothers to marry each other or
2 sisters to marry each other
but not a brother and a sister to marry each other??

And there, folks, we have the reason that the Middle East is full of people frothing at the mouth in the streets. Bats**t crazy from birth-mentally ill. We should have tried dumping tons of Wellbutrin or Ellavil in the water over there generations ago. They are all textbook cases of bi-polar mood disordered schizophrenics.
I firmly believe you can take a Muslim baby from birth and raise it in a normal Caucasian/non-Muslim family and you would STILL get a brain-damaged homicidal radical.

Meanwhile, the STUPID politicians of the Western world insist on ‘dialog’ and ‘diplomacy’. The Middle East a pesthole of inbred lunatics governed by inbred lunatics. So what do we do? Import them! Now who is crazier? The maniacs, or the maniacs who invite and defend them?

“...the Middle East is full of people frothing at the mouth in the streets, bats**t crazy from birth - mentally ill.”

How else explain that which we see? A perfect summation of that part of the world.

Making an exception for Israel, of course.

And as much as I love Israel, as a member of International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, I must admit to having doubts re. them too. Helping, feeding, healing your enemies is suicidal, IMO. Israel is not going to ‘nice’ the Muslim maniacs out of existence.

“As a matter of fact, my family tree is so messed up, I entered into a genealogy site and it knocked the website down for two days.....”

Reminds me of an incident that my cousin told about his mother’s family tree. It seems his ancestor married twice with children from both marriages. Then several of those children married into another family. In the next generation there are some more intermarriages - although none were consanguinous. So my cousin is trying to determine what his degree of kinship is with another family genealogist. This was about eight years ago with the Family Tree Maker software. He clicked on the link, entered the name of his new “cousin”, and then waited, and then he waited some more........ Finally the screen lit up with this message: “I’m still thinking.”

My wife’s parents are first cousins.
My grandfather and his 1st cousin married sisters. I almost never figured that out.
