Cumulus is a financial train wreck. They’re dumping a lot of the proven local talent they inherited in favor of less expensive alternatives. It’s doubtful they can afford the fees for both Limbaugh and Hannity as things stand now. But if Cumulus drops either or both, their listenership will go wherever Limbaugh and Hannity go. Cumulus really can’t win either way. They’re like a would be-gambler who finds himself sitting at a $1000 blackjack table with only $10 in their pockets. And to top it off, they can’t count to 21, either.

In DC, they dumped their 24-year local FM morning host (11th in the market) and replaced him with a show they syndicate out of Atlanta, which is tacky and appears to be designed for frat boys. They dropped from 11th in the timeslot to 16th virtually overnight.
