Last night at 6:00 pm the phone rang and it was my Senator, Lindsey Graham hosting a "townhall" telephone meeting sponsored by Townhall (I think this was Townhall.com, but I am not sure). The purpose of this meeting was for Lindsey to answer questions from his constituents in a live format.
During this sham townhall meeting, this message kept repeating "press 1 if you want to volunteer for Lindsey's campaign, press 2 if you want a yard sign". I was so mad at this propaganda that, had my wife not had really cooked a good dinner, it would have totally ruined it.
Who is this Townhall? Is this Townhall.com? Are they establishment republicrat? This Senator Graham is using propaganda to fool SC voters, and is running against no name neophyte politicians and will certainly be re-elected if nothing changes. Your heard it here first; don't be surprised.

As with all telephone solicitations, I hung up last night as soon as I heard “This is Senator Lindsey Graham...”. And yes, it was at dinnertime. What a dolt.
Yes, I could have hung up. However, I chose to learn about the telescam going down....
I got the same phone call, as soon as I heard that it was to be a “Telephone Townhall” I hung up.
Graham is using these electronic meetings in order NOT TO MEET IN PERSON with the people of SC.
He knows he can control the input and and keep the ball in his portion of the court.
He knows damn well what’s waiting for him in a public meeting especially in the North State.
Coward !
I would have substituted different ingredients.
I'll be there soon. Halleluiah!

Yes, but it was amazing to hear the SC citizens who asked the questions were completely oblivious to how they were being represented. Nothing but pure propaganda!!!
Too chicken to meet his constituents face-to-face I see.
What's the time difference between South Carolina and Cairo? That could explain it.
If every question is a softball question, then you know it is a scam. Murphy gets taken to task often by our local fishwrap, mainly because he is soft on unions. However, I'd describe the Tribune-Review as more of a libertarian than a conservative newspaper. They are solidly free market, for example, but also pro-gay marriage.
Murphy, OTOH, is a solid social conservative but a little soft on unions and certainly not a "free trade at any price" guy. I tend to cut him a little slack because there is a large union element in the 18th district, dating back to the days of coal mining and U.S. Steel.
Unlike so many conservative/libertarian purists, I'm a realist who believes that Tim Murphy is about as good as it gets for this particular district. This was Rick Santorum's district, BTW, before he got promoted to the U.S. Senate.
Murphy is far from a total union toady. The unions always back a "D" opponent against him, but their vote share continues to dwindle as the national party continues to move left.
I don’t think this was really Lindsey Graham on the phone call last night. Senator Graham is a military veteran, and would not have resorted to a phony telephone “townhall” type meeting.
I just called Senator Graham’s Washington, DC office alerting them to the possible townhall style meeting telephone scam. I told them that Senator Graham is a military veteran and I just could not see him resorting to a staged “townhall” type of “setup” telephone meeting and that the real Lindsey Graham would have met face to face with his constituents. I asked if that was really Senator Graham on the call, or was it an imposter? Senator Graham is no coward, I told the young staffer, so I thought the person presenting himself as the Senator may have been an imposter.
She said that that she had no idea if it was really the senator or not, and gave me the number to his campaign headquarters. I asked her if the real Lindsey Graham would have any problem meeting face to face with his constituents, and she said “he would not”.
Please be alert for this 6 pm dinnertime telephone scam. I don’t think that was really our Senator on the call. The real Lindsey Graham, who is a military veteran, would have met face to face with his constituents.
Please tell me that you just forgot to put the /s (sarcasm off) tag on your post.
What do you think? :)
Our real Senator would have no problem with conducting legitimate and open, townhall meetings throughout the State of South Carolina, per his staffer. Waiting.......
I do indeed hear ya.
I guess I was not being invited to the telephone town hall roundup last night after all. ‘Cause I just received another robocall (today at lunchtime) that started out the same way as the one I got last night. I think I hung up more quickly this time, in the middle of “Hello, this is Senator Lindsey Gr...”
