A great-grandmother who staffs the senior citizens desk at City Hall charged Thursday that Mayor Bob Filner grabbed her and kissed her one day and on another occasion asked if she knew “that I can go eight straight hours.”
Accompanied by attorney Gloria Allred, Peggy Shannon said that after the first allegations of sexual harassment arose against Filner, he came by her desk, put his finger to his mouth and said “shhhh.”
“I took it as a compliment when he first talked to me,” Shannon said.
She said Filner would pass by her desk several times a day and would “talk about us getting together the next weekend.”
“Every day when I went to work I had butterflies in my stomach,” Shannon said. “It became very stressful for me but I was not going to stay away from my job.”
Shannon said that on the day Filner kissed her, she went home and cried.
Allred said Shannon began working at City Hall under former Mayor Jerry Sanders and finds great satisfaction in the work. That changed after the mayor began making advances, Allred said.
“This went on for months,” Allred said. “She was fearful that because she declined the mayor’s advances she would lose her job. Miss Shannon started to feel depressed and anxious every time she went to work.”
Allred said Shannon filed a complaint with the city and has demanded an apology from Filner, which she has yet to receive.
The mayor’s alleged indication to Shannon to keep quiet about his advances amounted to a “message that she better not talk or else,” Allred said.
Shannon said she wants the mayor to resign.

Filner will claim he was just obeying the law - the law of gravity.
If this did happen why did she not say something sooner if it bothers her now why not when it happened?

Ms.Shannon may be nice looking, from an a morbidly obese great-grandmother standpoint, but for heaven's sake, Bob.
