What kind of apps are on a North Korean smartphone?
Daily Dear Leader worship instructions?.... You're thinking of the Obama phones here being distributed here...

"In one photo, there appears to be a technician weighing one to make sure it has enough Juche." Only on FR can one have such knowing high humor as on this thread.
"Tastiest tree bark!" There's an app for that!

NK tried offering internet, at very high prices, to tourists and stuff but that didn’t last but a few months. They cut the cord.

I bet they're great phones.
Except they only work one way. You get calls from the central party office (and you will answer when it rings, Comrade). You listen and then you obey.
Don't bother talking. There's no microphone.
I hear the DNC is waiting for version 1.2 to come out before they get on board.

The US version of this phone will include an anti-racism chip which will prevent all forms of racism from being transmitted.

I believe the phone may actually be produced in China, and then inspected or completed in North Korea.

Wonder what Moe, Larry and Curly are writing in their notepads? The Norks are a laugh riot...miles from shore without a paddle.

That is exactly the kind of thing they did with TVs or computer monitors, slap a new label on them. lol That's what communists do, and they really believe the West falls for it (but we all laugh at them). I remember a news article in the early 1980's, where the Soviets were touting their manufacturing prowess in creating a home-grown PC and software, at a trade show in Moscow. The machine looked suspiciously like an Apple II. A western journalist typed a couple commands, and the screen display showed a listing of the monitor ROM (operating system) that displayed the Apple copyrights. Yup, a complete copy and the Soviets were too dumb to alter it before showing it to the world.
