sounds like that neighbor needs some of cousin Joey’s”sensitivity training”
I vote the neighbors for the “Insensitive Heartless Too-Much-Time-On-Their-Hands Moonbat” award. What do the ghouls expect???? They want the young woman to crawl in and out of her home? I’d bet the neighbors are nobama voters.
It looks they've already put in a planter bed with small plants - takes time to grow, but will provide cover up the cement wall -
so it looks like these people have spent a LOT of money having a professional ramp build and have put in plants. What more do these stupid neighbors want?
Even an HOA could not make them remove it.
The use of disability access ramps, sometimes referred to as handicap accessibility ramps, is governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Enacted into law in 1990, the Americans With Disabilities Act (or ADA for short) places very specific requirements on builders to allow easier access to those with disabilities. All new construction projects must meet the ADA standards when building disabled access ramps. -eHow
I have twisted my ankle badly enough to need crutches. It is tiresome going from one place to another in those. I can’t imagine what it’s like rolling your own wheelchair on a permanent basis.
I had a similar experience. I teach a class at my kids’ high school and one of the kids in the class is wheelchair bound with a degenerative muscluar disease that will be fatal before he’s 30. We went on a class trip in ddowntown Philadelphia, seeing various historic sights. iI’d never properly appreciated the wheelchair ramps at every corner until then.
They can go pound sand - they never heard of the ADA ...
That’s it, really?
Put some shrubbery in front it. Paint the railing the same color as the House Trim. Plant a Tree in the front yard. The Ramp would blend right in.
Where are those Yard Crasher guys from the DYI Network when you need them? Better yet, where is Vanilla Ice?
Nice ramp.
At least 25% of the houses in my neighborhood have ramps.
They need to get an ADA lawyer-piranha.
I broke mine on July 31st. I’m sure glad I added a “utility ramp” when I built my deck ... I’ve been using it a lot lately.
The neighbors lose, and are a-holes to boot
From looking at the pic at the site, well made professionally made concrete ramp and railing. What’s the beef?
I don’t think even an HOA can trump the ADA lol.
If they want some of those pink plastic flamingos to put in front of it, my neighbor has some in their yard I would be more than happy to donate.
That's the ramp and the neighbors complain about it? I woudn't call them neighbors. I'd call them @ssholes. My wife was born with cerebral palsy. She used forearm crutches up until a couple years ago when she took a bad fall and we bought a wheelchair. I guess these "neighbors" want the young lady to just stay in the house the rest of her life. This kind of petty crap infuriates me.
The owners should paint a Handy cap logo on their driveway just for good measure.
The neighbors need to be dragged out of their homes and sent to a labor camp for the rest of their miserable lives.
