Speaking with Neil Cavuto this afternoon, Fox News chief Roger Ailes addressed speculation about his networks primetime lineup changes.
During a conversation at the 21st Century Fox investors conference in California, Cavuto asked Ailes about the rumors that Megyn Kelly inheriting the 9 p.m. ET time slot this fall. Generally, I dont confirm or deny any rumors, and that is a rumor at the moment, Ailes said.
All of our stars will be back, he added.
Asked what the future holds for current 9 p.m. host Sean Hannity, Ailes said [he] is a brand that many of our viewers love and want to see, and, as you know, is one of the nicest guys in the building.
And further fueling speculation that either Hannity or 10 p.m. host Greta Van Susteren may move into the 7 p.m. timeslot, Ailes said he has had conversations with current 7 p.m. host Shepard Smith about a new way to deliver news.
UPDATE: Some other select exchanges from the conference have emerged. At one point, Ailes told Cavuto:
I am making a few minor changes, but let me just say that since FOX News Channel came on, MSNBC and CNN have changed either their primetime lineup of shows or their primetime talent 64 times [since 1997, although FNC launched in 1996]. I think maybe Ive changed it five or six so you have to choose well in the first place and have the guts to stay with people who can do the job. And thats what I try to do.
Theres also this interesting exchange referencing Geraldo Riveras #SelfieGate:
CAVUTO: Lets talk about you in the few minutes we have left here. How long you want to do this?
AILES: I have certain things you know like I want to save democracy for the next generation, I want to prove that a fat guy can get to 100 still working. I would like to be on Dancing with the Stars.
CAVUTO: Well Geraldo turned it down, so
AILES: He doesnt need it. Hes up there shooting pictures of himself in the middle of the night.

Abel was just voted one of the most trusted newsman on TV. He’ll continue reading the TelePrompTer
He’s also getting remarried this month. His first wife was his college
Sweet heart. This wife is local NYC liberal if her looks follow her political
Ideologue.
Ailes said he has had conversations with current 7 p.m. host Shepard Smith about a new way to deliver news
+++++++++++
Fingers crossed and hoping that Ailes was referring to delivering news through a CNN microphone.
Jerry Danger
I'd be happy to have Shep mail it in from Hungry Horse, Montana
I understand the picture was taken and posted to fulfill the terms of a long-ago bet lost by Jerry.
The purpose was to embarrass, and he kept his promise, so I’ll cut Rivera a pass on this one.
Get rid os Shep Smith and Jerry Rivers (Jerraldo’s old U of Az name).
Sick puppy....
Doesn’t appear Smith is going anywhere. I suppose his news could be reduced to 30 minutes but that means about 20 minutes program time. Too short to cover all that goes on.
He doesn’t say they will be back in primetime
Please send Shep to the cornfield.
I wish they would hire former CNN employee Amber Lyons. She was fired from CNN for being a real journalist. But she probably wouldn’t take the job anyway — she’s starting her own company that promises to tell the truth no matter where it takes her. Catch her interview on infowars.com
....and replace him with Harris Faulkner. And........let Laura sub for O'reilly every day.
I’d take Laura Ingraham over Ms. Kelly ANY day.
Amber is on board with Ben Swann’s project so she is bound to be with him on that. However, Ben surrounded himself with too many Paulers so it is a less appealing venture. Having said that, something must have ticked Ron Paul off about what Ben is doing, Because instead of working with Ben, he is off creating his own Blaze clone called The Ron Paul Channel. I’ll stick to The Blaze, One America News and PJTV.
We have a growing number of resources popping up daily.
Glenn Beck started GBTV, now The Blaze, in 2011 as an outgrowth of his area with radio podcasts and video content called Extreme. Since then it has grown to be a group of video shows on a network now on Dish Network and other providers, a adjacent radio network with radio shows, and a news and information site.
Herring Broadcasting then teamed up with The Washington Times to create One America News which launched last Month. Its aim is to be a more conservative network than Fox News and at the same time do unbiased news shows that report facts instead of opinions along with conservative talk shows and other content.
PJTV team began in 2008, as a video site, with a few shows and over time has kept expanding. And in the past year started a new group of programs under the banner of Next Generation.
Ben Swann, news man, is trying to do a project called Truth In Media where he can tell the truth about various subjects as he sees it. So he had a recent launch party. He is trying to build a studio with a broadcasting company and launch his video site or streams.
And we have a every growing stable of radio talks shows.
Correction I meant
And we have a ever growing stable of radio talks shows.
Oh...a typical big city moron.
That would work having Harris do Fox Report daily. I also wouldn’t mind Gretchen doing it.
