Christie: Balance need for security with rights of law-abiding gun owners

TRENTON – One of the bills Gov. Chris Christie signed into law today deals with keeping guns out of the hands of those on the Terrorist Watch List.

In signing A3687, Christie talked in an accompanying statement about the need to balance national security needs with a desire to ensure law-abiding citizens are not improperly implicated with wrongdoing.

He said that “To the extent that this bill will keep guns out of the hands of known terrorists, or those who have taken active steps to support terrorist activities, my signature on this bill represents my commitment to keeping the citizens of New Jersey safe. Our diligence against terrorism must never fade.”

To those of you out there suffering under the illusion that Chris Christie would make an acceptable alternative to Hillary Clinton, check this out. The Republicans in COngress, along with some Democrats, managed to kill a similar bill on a national level.

Anti-Second Amendment to the core, pro-Islamic, anti-First Amendment and supportive of illegal aliens - Christie in a nutshell.

And make no mistake about it. He is marshalling support among the rich limousine liberal RINOs of the Northeast to roll through the primaries.

There are several even MORE onerous anti-gun bills on his desk for signature - passed by the Democrats in the legislature here.

It will be ineteresting to see how they fare.

There is no way (zero, nada, zip) to keep guns out of the hands of terrorists or criminals.

What infallible governing authority answering only to the Constitution is earmarked to determine who is on this “watch list”? All Republicans? Anyone associated with conservative issues? Anyone that ever received a parking ticket? Anyone that that has ever visited any conservative web sites? (They have that data on everyone)

Since anyone can end up on the Terrorist Watch List on some pretext, this is yet another backdoor to circumvent the Second Amendment.
Thank You Governor Christie. You walked straight into the trap.

There are many people with common sounding names who are on those so-called “terrorist” watch lists, and none of them are terrorists.

Good luck to them if they live in New Jersey.

Well, in the old Westerns, the good-guys would shoot them out of the hands of the bad-guys.

The Terrorist Watch List is a Star Chamber proceeding concocted by Jorge El Segundo, in the blissful ignorance he was so capable of, and co opted by a Marxist Muslim tyrant.

Those of you fortunate enough to live out in America's real heartland should send Mr. Christie a nice letter telling him how disappointed you were by his signing this bill and expressing your concerns that he NOT sign the other anti-gun bills sitting on his desk and let him know that any such action will compromise his chances of nomination.

Of course no conservative with half a brain would ever vote for this jerk, but that kind of sentiment was of little help in the last unfortunate primary where too many conservative candidates made it possible for Romney to win a victory.

Is this the terrorist watch list that they put you on without telling you and there’s basically no way to get off? no due process

Perhaps they should make being a terrorist illegal. Just a thought.

Amazing that politicians can't understand the Second Amendment as it's written but then there's a lot about freedom politicians can't or don't want to understand and that includes this fat ass, Lou Costello look-a-like f'ing RINO Chris Christie.

The bill he signed.

From what I could check out of the rogue’s gallery of sponsors, it was purely a Democrat bill.

I believe there is no due process nor any way to even know you are on it.

God help you if you have a name like “John Smith”.

Remember WHO Napolitano the Homeland Security Czar characterized as “terrorists”: pro-lifers, veterans, anti-UN and anti-globalists, Second Amendment supporters.

See:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/3/terror-watch-list-grows-875000/?page=all

They claim only 1% of those on the list are American citizens. Perhaps. Time will tell.

“To the extent that this bill will keep guns out of the hands of known terrorists

Is it just me or is this the dumbest thing ever? If you know a person is an actual terrorist how about arresting them instead of saying they can not buy a gun!
