Reince Preibus ultimatum to NBC and CNN regarding what appear to be Hillary Clinton infomercials is certainly refreshing evidence of some testosterone within the halls of the GOP establishment, indicating that perhaps there is more than just the starch in their button down shirts -- there may even be some courage.
Having said that, this ultimatum is at least one election cycle and one "War on Women" too late, and begs the question: why in the world did the Republican Party ever think it was a good idea to have liberal Democrats moderate and dominate GOP primary season debates?
Take the 2011-2012 season, for example. The objective of the entire 14 month primary circus should have been to see who was most capable of running effectively against Barack Obama and his liberal allies in Congress, the media, and his administration. Unless the nominee who emerged was to be capable of and willing to run hard against Obama, the entire effort would have been squandered. (snip)
I mused that a panel consisting of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin and Andrew Breitbart would have been perfect for vetting the candidates within these parameters.

Good article by a FReeper. Yea, whether the MSM does their Shrillery lovefests or not, NO GOP primary debates on any of these networks.
ping.
Exactly right.
Might not matter.
The RNC is dead, dead dead.
I believe them only slightly more than I believe Smegmalips Obamadork.
What baffles me is how easy it is to understand these principles to most of the rank and file, but the RNC seems absolutely brain dead when it comes to these matters.
At this stage in the game it is far too late to try and be gentlemanly in “negotiating” debate moderators and such. Our nation is in abject decline. The time to go along to get along is over. We are fighting for our very lives not who will be prom king in high school.
Desperate times call for bold courageous actions. The path taken in the past is what got us here. Where are the bold and courageous leaders seeking to blaze new trails — even if that means brusing the egos of Scott Pelley, Martha Raddatz, Candy Crowley, et. al.
So the RNC is going to limit getting it’s message of because of some mini-series that will be watched by people that would support Hilary anyway? Add to that that they will be eviscerated for being sexist? And why is the RNC afraid of everything.
This is an absurdly stupid move.
The communist propaganda organs in the media are what they are; an arm of the democrat party. The RNC needs to recognize they are, in fact, the enemy, and treat them as such. Which means, first of all, STOP KISSING THEIR A$$!
All GOP primary debates should be on Fox, and on talk radio. Let the base of the party decide on our candidates, not the enemy.
Sorry about the failing memory, but I did see a Republican turn round to the Bearded One on MSNBC this morning and say “You’re the problem” - Loved it!
Defeatist!
No, it’s an absurdly stupid move to ever coordinate or cooperate with CNN or NBC or ABC or any of them during the primary season. There is nothing to be gained, and much to be lost, by doing so.
Your assertion that this is “limiting” the message seems a tad absurd to me....
This is an absurdly stupid move.
Candy Crowley Agrees with you whole heartedly.
If you’re against it than I’m positive it’s a smart move.
Perhaps 30 years ago, when the 'Big 3' broadcast networks were the only game in town that made sense but in 2016, it is ridiculous to confine the GOP presidential debates to the dinosaur networks when Fox News is pulling in unprecedented numbers of viewers every week and would gladly host the Republican debates as well as supply reasonably objective moderators.
Conservatives are fed up with the wimpy RNC giving 'our' candidates a TV platform for the crucial primary debates that is heavily stacked against them via left-wing moderators with 'gotcha!' questions. Enough!
Not really that baffling. The RNC simply has different goals than conservatives. They don't want smaller government, they just want to be the ones pushing the buttons and pulling the levers of a larger government.
They have to lie to us about their goals to get elected. IOW, they're really Dems.
Not all that long ago I would have declared your response that of a nut, but I no longer think that. I have come to conclude that the majority of Republicans just want to do whatever they can to stay in office and are happy to collude with Democrats as long as they aren’t too overt about it. And then they blame Conservatives for being rubes who just don’t know how things work.
I doesn’t matter who broadcasts the debates. It matters who moderates them. RNC, or any other party than the RATS, ought to insist on insist on a someone like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, et al.
That's spot on. It's sad, really, because it means we have no voice in this government. None.
Actually distorting the message.
um, I think the article might have pointed that out....
