USFWS Club Salmon in Oregon in the 2000's

Posted on 08/05/2013 10:13:45 PM PDT by bigfootbob

Back in the early 2000's the Fish & Wildlife Service was caught on tape clubbing Salmon to death returning to streams here in either Washington or Oregon. Meantime, the government was passing draconian landuse regulations "taking" private property due to low Salmon returns. Does anyone remember this and help we with a link? Thank you!

I’m not sure, but I think that’s the way they gather eggs for hatcheries.

No, this was a big no-no. It got sweeped, but there were some Freepers who were on top of the issue back then, I’ll have to dig deeper tomorrow. A radio host asked me if I remembered the specifics but I can’t find any quick links.

I've seen them do that in AK. Hope they don't waste the meat.

Go ask some locals in that area. Nothing gets people more upset than the gubmit doing things others are not allowed to do. The locals would remember.
